I've hundreds of old dance 12" that I'd like to have on CD and then transfer to my iPod, can it be done (at home), what do I need and how much will it cost?

I went to Selfridges in Manchester as I had run out and was told that it has been discontinued as apparently the bottle is too expensive to produce (its in a very tall, narrow glass bottle) and...
They were all deformed and the mother had no arms or legs and was kept under the bed tied to a skateboard or something? It was one of the scariest things I've ever seen and I'm trying to describe it...
