disappearing birds

Is it me...or is it quite a lot of small birds we used to take for granted ,not around any-more...Im speaking of about 40 years or so....I dont see the same range of small birds anymore....anyone else...

I've burnt the bloody sofa!

I'm such an idiot. Did dinner to have while watching a film last night and very stupidly put a hot plate on the foot stall, which is the same fabric as the sofa. There is now a lovely plate size ring...

Help! Dog sat on my cordless phone - now blank.

Can anyone help please. The dog sat on my Panasonic Digital Cordless phone and now it's completely blank. He did switch it off completely but I got it back on and now the light is on but nothing else....
