We haven't had a cake thread for a while

but I've just made some toffee muffins and as soon as they cool I will top them with maple syrup flavoured buttercream and finely crushed caramel .....of course I can't eat them....just fancied doing...

sugar paste cake decorations advice please

doing a retirement cake and not used to working with sugar paste. how long does it taketo dry so I can assemble the components and does it need to dry before you use an icing marker to write on it?...

Just an M40 observation report

On journey to london over 100 Stokenchurch pigeons in the air...glorious.... some great views on the way home too especially at Oxford services where one was showing off over the car park.........

having a windows 7 nightmare

when I switch on windows fails to load... do the 'repair restore thing and it starts up then when I switch off it loads updates which cause the problem to recur... as it reinstalls the update that is...

more corvid harassment

local crows like a fight so far this week they have taken on the local pair of buzzards and a female hen harrier.... they were also creating a fuss in sme trees nearby so my money is they had another...

choice of colours

just painted my new kitchen lovely fresh light lime green with all the paintwork and units white boulght siver dish drainer etc can't decide what to put with it blinds, accessories etc torn between...

Has anyone tried the new light reflecting paints?

If so are the worth the money only I have a darkish hallway and wondered if it would help I already have plans with mirrors and stripping off painted over glass around one of the doors....
