Is Bread Crust good for you?

As a child i was always told to eat the Crust on my bread as it was "good for me". Is there any truth in it? is there any proof that Bread crust is good for you? or can i keep cutting it off?

I'm trying to get used to seeing the Username at the top left side of Answers, but would prefer to see it at the bottom as before. I feel it detracts a bit, as it's so close to the beginning...
