can i recover files after a reformat

i think i know the answer to this but as i am in the doghouse here goes. is there any software that will allow me to recover some excel files from before i reformated my pc. cheers

agp aperture size?

i have an ati radeon 9600xt 256mb agp graphics card. what do i set the agp aperture to in the bios.it is set at 64mb which i think is too low,should it be 128mb or 256mb,many thanks.

internet disabled at work

my work pc has an i.e6 disable programme installed by the i.t department.it resides in a zen networks programme and will not let you delete or uninstall it. i used to change the connection...

microsoft word extension required

when i create a new word document and rename it i have to type the file extension on the end ( .doc ) or it says changing the file extension may make this file unusable.how do i stop this happening as...

is mixing memory brands ok

is it ok to mix memory brands .i:e 1gb pc 3200 ddr by corsair and 1gb pc 3200 ddr by bravo or perhaps an unbranded stick.

how do i burn a cd image so it reads on another pc

when i burn an image of a game to cd the proprties appear to change when they are read in my boys pc (mdf file). i burn with nero or alchohol 120% and i get error in command file when they try to open...

i have downloaded the latest aries software but when i do a search for something it never finds anything although it worked fine when i first installed it about 6 weeks ago.has the site shut down.

64mb sdram or 256mb sdram

just having pulled some memory from my sons old board it has on it 8 banks with extram 8m84z-133 which shows as 256 mb on system info when in my machine.is this correct ( if you can tell by the info)...

i have just installed a 2nd hand syntax sv266a motherboard which came without a driver. i installed it and the 2 gig cpu shows as a 1300mhz. ( yes i did check the cpu). it still shows my old board...

i have previously installed 2 motherboards ( quite a while ago) as i was having big probs.i remember i reformated but i am not sure if i had to because thats what you do when you install a new board....

i am buyimg a tft monitor and have been told i need at least one with a 16 ms responce time or faster for gaming.as i don't know what ms stands for, which is faster 16ms or 30 ms  ....
