Weekend Moderation Reminder
248 Answers
Good Day Everyone!
These rules: http://www.theanswerb.../Question1006509.html
Still apply. It seemed to work last weekend although you may blame the sunshine (moonlight, boogie etc) for the reasonably quiet friday night...
Remember, be naughty this weekend and you'll be suspended.
The process from then on:
* Reviewed on Monday by editorial team
* Results in:
1>> 1 week suspension if the suspension was correct
2>> Reinstatement for those suspended "in error"
* Returning with another name during a suspension will see you excluded.
* Users will be reinstated the following Monday all going well.
Apologies to the majority of users who are, naturally, excellent to each other.
Also: Please, if you have any more suggestions for this: http://www.theanswerb.../Question1005647.html please air them soon!

But what, then, or whom, do you suggest actually carries out the editorial/moderating duties ?
I think 'offensive' on this forum should be treated as having the very narrowest of definitions.........and anyone finding it too narrow is at perfect liberty to take themselves and their broader-mind off to a more receptive forum.
In my opinion............

This is the point that requires addressing in my opinion, but not in the opinion of the Ed+team...........and I accept this. Until and unless we are clear of the anatomy of the supervisory team, we will be working in the dark and accusations and doubts will continue to fly around.

and indeed the Ed team agrees and they are implemented.....but again this "narrowest of definitions" is so vague as to vary from one moderator to another.

I accept the thoughts and decisions of the Ed team, but clearly a problem exists with many people.
Yes one can say if you can;t stand the heat then get out of the kitchen, but is that the way to run a show?....maybe it is.

I assume all the people saying they are unclear of what might be deemed offensive walk around permanently with a little guide book of what might be found offensive in their pocket that they refer to all the time in real life.
Or is it just on this site that people seem to require spoon feeding as to what may be regarded offensive?

I see two types of offensive posts.
1. Posts full of expletives, name-calling and personal digs.
2. Almost as (1) but with more moderate language, general opinion and a modicum of intelligence employed as to terms and the usage of more descriptive language.
(1) will be removed more often than (2), but that is as it should be.

Cyberly (is that a word?) corresponding with each other in a reasonable/civil manner, even when you disagree on something.
He was on AB for a long time before getting the chop and I didn't noticed unpleasantness from him towards you....or at least, not like he is now. He seems to be going overboard with it :o(
