Unusual Name?
5 Answers
Has anyone ever heard of the christian name Manderley (as in D. du M's Rebecca I think). I can't help thinking it's a made up name, I mean who ever called anyone after a house? The person I met of that name also said she used to be a 'Bunny Girl' and lived near to the Krays when she was a girl????

My own name is Dunroamin, and I and my brother Corfe Castle can't quite see the point of your question.
Sorry Dot, it was just a fleeting meeting so to speak so I can't ask her although I believe she's back in London now. It was in Spain (Nerja) where I met her and she was an acquaintance of a friend. I just found it a bit odd that everything about her was out of the ordinary (name, occupation, location, contacts etc) Still I suppose not everyone has a mundane life. I guess if your f-i-law lived in the area he would have remembered something like a bunny girl with a funny name. Yes Manderley is the house in Rebecca and I agree about Mr Poldark..
