Hi my mum's 9 year old staffie *** as been in season twice during the last 12 weeks, at first it was a normal bleed, then a brown discharge for a couple of weeks now she's bleeding again. I'm guessing this Is not normal? At the beginning of her season she was quite poorly. But seems totally fine in her self. The vet gave her antibiotics for a urine infection she stopped taking those around 5 weeks ago. Any other staffie owners had this with their dogs? Thanks

My old collie lab cross had something similar at 13 she had pyrometra, this is a serious and potentially life threatening infection. Would be surprised your vet did not consider this, think all dogs like we ladies can become irregular as we reach our middle years so maybe it is hormonal. Even so best checked out.
Take her back to the vet, jonah.

Thank you for replies, holly is at the vets now waiting to have a hysterectomy but we've been told she'll make a full recovery and be so much happier :)
so glad they caught it in time :)
That's good news, jonah. I hope she recovers well.
My Malamute *** had a pyometra and we very nearly lost her, thankfully she recovered and lived a good while longer. Glad you got to your girl in time xxx
