Hi there. My two year old Weimaraner GSP cross boy has being diagnosed will allergy problems. The main symptom is inflamed ears which then become dirty and sticky. We are working with the vet who is excellent but the steroid tablets which helped at first have stopped being effective at a dose which is acceptable in terms of side effects for the dog. The next stage is to try a topical steroid spray which we will start on monday. We have cleaned up his diet which has helped a lot but not solved the problem. We have also tried
Canaural drops (the thick yellow ones)
Thornit powder
We currently use ear cleaning solution made from boracic and lactic acid to clean his ears (at vets suggestion) plus the steroid tabs and evening primrose oil capsules, again at vet's suggestion.
has anyone else had experience of this and can you make any suggestions please?
He has bare, not hairy ear canals and is as good as gold about the twice daily cleaning and treatment.
thanks

Sorry, hello Neti, take care of that headache, I don't want to read about the mad Brit woman mowing down spaniards
Morning all..another windy, gloomy one and now it's raining. I think I need a spa, one with lots of sunshine lamps. This foggy head is making me nasty tempered, I just lost it because I couldn't find my debit card...I'd put it in the wrong side of my purse

Oh Robi one time I did that, couldn't find it, panicked, cancelled it, then I found I'd put it in the freezer. If something like that isn't where it should be then it's obviously gone forever!
oh dear, if you'd waited you'd have got an email from the bank saying your account had been frozen.
haha...I went into a purple rage a couple of days ago and emptied out my everyday bag to look for something (not a good idea). I finally found what I was looking for in another bag that contained very little, tut...on the plus side I also found my clinique glossy lip balm which had been 'lost forever'.

bloomin weather's foul here
Morning all
Not too bad here atm.Windy but dry.Brightening up a bit now so I'll sally forth .
I was dithering.
Put that card back in your purse at once Robinia :)
Be good ..see you later .
Lovely day here, all right with my world.

jno when we went to Harrods, I found it very ordinary, very disappointed with it, bought some Arm and Hammer toothpaste and departed!

I'm always losing things when I change over my handbags, which I do rather a lot.
all the corner shops in Ibiza have Egyptian escalators, I know.

Got to be honest though, it might be making more money now but it's not a nose elevatingly posh as it used to be....
no it isn't woofy..they told us we were far too posh and well dressed to go inside :o)

I used to have a Harrods store card....it was brilliant, you produced it in the shop and they treated you like minor royalty. Then they flogged it to another credit card company and I canned it.
well I've been round all the large diy stores and now I'm in garden centres. I'm exhausted and I haven't left my chair :o). I fancy planting some gladdies this year, I always forget about summer bulbs until it's too late.

Nothing to do with home or garden but this really made me laugh...

Well Derbys weather has edged it's way over here .Blowing a gale and piddling down .It started raining just as I got off the bus but I was determined to have some chips so I did !
Years ago I took ma in law to Harrods .She was absolutely gob smacked by it all.
She used to love to go to all the posh shops up town .Happy days.

Well I got a pressie for my neice and a pressie for myself .One of those long Jersey cardies with a hanky hem and a nice top to go under in a sort of rust colour ..all I need now are some shoes .....I must look OK for the karaoke .
They may ask me to sing Puff the Magic Dragon :)
ooh, lovely shaney, I like rust :o)...and when buying presents 'one for them and one (or two) for me' is always a good idea...bit like my xmas shopping trips.
Hiya I'm so tired. Apart from going to the local Co-op I'm tired out just sitting about and waiting for The D to finish painting. He has just gone and is coming back to do some more tomorrow. He has to undercoat the wood work then come back Friday to gloss.
I'm off to Nittingham tomorrow with my walking friend for a lunch time listen to some music played by Nottingham Uni students. It's a free hour or two and you don't know what they are playing or what instruments. Still I like most music so I expect it'll be interesting then we're eating somewhere. The entertainment is I think in the bar/restaurant at the Concert Hall.
I also owe my friend £33 for a ticket to see The Waterboys who we are going to see in May at Derby Assembly rooms.

Talking about losing cash cards and things, I forgot to tell you when I was in The Derby County Shop my purse must have slipped out of my arms unnoticed as I was carrying my shopping and I just said out loud 'I've lost my purse' in a panicky way and this man came up to me and gave it to me saying he had just found it on the floor. I was so lucky as all my cards were in it and about £100 in cash. I just gave him a hug and a kiss (on the cheek)
It's an awful feeling when you lose something like that isn't it.

I hope your feel better soon Robi. Your bad head seems to be hanging around.

The last time I went to Harrods it was shut. it was a Sunday and me and a friend had gone down on the Saturday to see a show and stay the night. Then on the sunday we tried Harrods and when it was closed we went on to Madame Tussauds. (sp)!

I'm off now for a cuppa and top watch Coumtdown on 4D on my Lap top. Alos I'm going to look on M & S as I have received a 15% voucher through the post if I shop on line.

I can't do gladis but have stocked up on hardy fuchsias this year. Hawkshead which is pure white, Pearl Knight which is pearly white with a tinge of pink and a blotchy one whose name escapes me.
I like rust and russet too, especially with grey.
mHD left for the day so I went to drop off my ironing and am now settled...probably cold meat and chips for tea.
It's wet and windy here, settling down weather.
It's been wet and windy here all day too Woofy. It definitely is a settling down now time. My Decorator is back at 8 in the morning but I'll be up I expect. Im hopeless with Gladolis too but my Sister is really good with them. She has green fingers and I don't, as you have probably gathered over the years.
Have a good night relaxing everyone..
