Allergy sticky ears in dog

Hi there. My two year old Weimaraner GSP cross boy has being diagnosed will allergy problems. The main symptom is inflamed ears which then become dirty and sticky. We are working with the vet who is excellent but the steroid tablets which helped at first have stopped being effective at a dose which is acceptable in terms of side effects for the dog. The next stage is to try a topical steroid spray which we will start on monday. We have cleaned up his diet which has helped a lot but not solved the problem. We have also tried
Canaural drops (the thick yellow ones)
Thornit powder
We currently use ear cleaning solution made from boracic and lactic acid to clean his ears (at vets suggestion) plus the steroid tabs and evening primrose oil capsules, again at vet's suggestion.
has anyone else had experience of this and can you make any suggestions please?
He has bare, not hairy ear canals and is as good as gold about the twice daily cleaning and treatment.

Morning all...weather looks promising, fingers crossed. Yesterday was glorious, a real tonic & made me feel better to be outside, a few weeks of this would have me out of any slough. Did a bit of snipping in a'noon, oooph, I wish I had telescopic legs. I expected to sleep like a baby but strangely I woke after 4 hours...the power of suggestion? I did consider taking my chances but I think my neighbours are too krackered for each other, never mind a threesome...there's a nice guy goes by with his dogs every day, I wonder where he lives?

woofy or lottie, what is the difference in 95 or 98 octane unleaded petrol? I always put in 95 but couldn't fine it unleaded at the pump so put in 98, that's OK isn't it??

Been waiting in all day for a delivery - not that I feel like going out, but Meggie does. What does one do with a small dog that is terrified of houseflies??? This is a totally new thing and all she wants to do is hide upstairs where she sits and shakes?

Neti the super unleaded has properties which apparently some cars thrive on (including my sons) but if you put it in instead of the normal it does no harm - except to your purse.

(I am definitely not going near my Troll neighbour after 4 hours sleep!!!!!)

Hair colours Neti ? Last time I coloured it myself I used Clairol, Nice 'n Easy Perfect 10 in natural ligh ash blonde No 102.
