What do I do with this goldfish?

Putting this here as B&S is most popular..it's also in the 'proper' section so please don't tell me off....
Well I am seething. My 9 year old daughter went out for
the day to a fair with her friend and her family ~ and came back with a goldfish.
I don't have a bowl or tank, so have to go to a pet shop tomorrow & find a suitable home to purchase! in the meantime he is in a clear plastic bowl. I am hoping he lasts the night, as I don't have anything to oxygenate the water. I am furious because I hate fairgrounds trading fish..it is so irresponsible. Any tips gratefully received :o)

I went mental and swore under my breath all the way up to the petshop for a bowl (I didnt know then they are better in a tank), bought the bowl, food, gravel, silly novelty toy, spent a bloody fortune and the damned thing died that night!
Since then, I researched em a bit, and now I have a tank in kitchen with 2 goldies (one's a black moor) massive one in living room with tropicals in and small one in bedroom with a Siamese fighter in.

My lad won one at the fair over 13yrs ago and it is still going strong, in fact it is now huge & is part of the family (Had his/hers(?) birthday last Whit Monday :) Survived the first 6 months in a large pirex mixing bowl.... Actually he came home with two but the other one only lasted 48hrs & was burried with full Naval Honours.........
No probs RATTER ;o)
Your idea would have been good if the fair wasn't 25 miles away...no matter how angry I was I wasn't prepared for a 50 mile round trip!
I have heard about quite a few fairground fish lasting many years ~ Mr P had one which he transferred over to a pond, and that lived for about 20 years. I remember getting some from a pet shop which lasted a few months, so I guess it's in the lap of the gods eh?

Awww pippa I'm so chuffed it survived the night for ya- especially now you've forked out all that money!
At least you can feel good safe in the knowledge that at least ONE goldfish from the fair has been given a fighting chance at survival- good for you!
fongers crossed it lives a long happy life :-)
