Some weeks I posted about seeing a female peasant in my back garden.
Looking down the garden I noticed that a male has turned up. We could soon have the patter of tiny feet:-)

Let's hope so, Melv.

We had a Mallard drake in the garden this morning. I don't want the duck to turn up. Tilly wouldn't leave the ducklings alone.

Do you live near water, tilly?
I do, Melv, about 100 yards from the river. Normally, the ducks stay by the river.
>a female peasant in my back garden<

Please tell me there should be an 'h' in that word, or am I missing something......
:))
Well the dictionary for "peasant" says the following so maybe they were in her back garden

"a person who owns or rents a small piece of land and grows crops, keeps animals, etc. on it, especially one who has a low income, very little education, and a low social position"
As were in the depths of the country, and surrounded by woodland,we have many pheasants. At the moment two males are disputing rights to about twelve females. They are fine until they meet, then all hell breaks loose. The ladies just get on with eating, and ignore the boys dispute.Last year we had "white"male, not albino as he had some colour, but the non white feathers were gold and brown(not a Golden Pheasant)
Not the biggest thing in our garden,we sometimes (mainly at twilight) see a family of wild boar, they are actually quite timid, and scatter back to the woods if you surprise them.
