Gratitude
ABE suggestion - please can people be encouraged to have the politeness to either thank those of us who help them, or to recognise that we tried and tell us we were wrong. The site is quickly turning into a chat room, and I'm all for that. But if you want to keep it as an answer bank, then people need to have a reason to give answers. Ignoring attempts at help is rude and surely against the spirit of the site.
Or am I just 22 going on 82 and being a miserable old goat?

I've had a little chat with Ed and I think we've decided to kiss and make up! So I will be around for a while - although I do have to stop being such a loser and checking this site so often! lol!
You see what happened is this. There was a post put here, by someone who I've argued with before (It all started in the post about the legality of voting on behalf of a sibling). In their post they were laughing at my real name being 'Anna Wood'. I wrote a somewhat defensive answer asking "what's wrong with my name?". I then asked the ABE by email if I was being hyper-sensitive in being offended by someone laughing at the name my parents chose for me. Both those posts were removed by the Ed who emailed to say that the post by, shall i say, the-lady-with-the-same-name-as-Homer-Simpson's-wife had accidentally slipped thru the net.
I had referred in a post to being annoyed by a post "3 or 4 posts up from here" - after the posts got removed, it became very conusing and I didn't want people to think I was annoyed with you because I'm not! :-)
That probably made it ten times more confusing. But perhaps my clues will tell you who had offended me.
