ABE suggestion - please can people be encouraged to have the politeness to either thank those of us who help them, or to recognise that we tried and tell us we were wrong. The site is quickly turning into a chat room, and I'm all for that. But if you want to keep it as an answer bank, then people need to have a reason to give answers. Ignoring attempts at help is rude and surely against the spirit of the site.
Or am I just 22 going on 82 and being a miserable old goat?

I'm sorry for my part in that. I really really promise to try to hold my tongue in future and not get so wound up. And also to try to remember that as tone of voice and body language are not implied, I need to have more faith in other people. And count to 10 more often.
For what it's worth I clicked the button to say there had been enough answers on this thread - in an attempt to stop it all. But to no avail. So I just walked away for a bit. But felt I should apologise to the unfortunates who stumbled across it all!Sorry!
Like most people on this thread, I'm not too bothered about the mud slinging. But what we MUST stamp out is mention, as there has been since the weekend, of:
-Barbequed Lamb
-Rhubarb and custard.
And all that kind of thing. It is simply NOT FAIR. My fridge contains 2 pints of milk, some hot cross buns, and some Dolce Latte Cheese. I now cannot stop thinking about barbequed lamb. I mean, every 3 minutes. Medium rare, with thyme. It needs to stop.
