Ever wondered what AB Ed did in her spare time? Me too... until I was wandering in the bazaars of Damascus the other day and saw <A target='_blank' href=&quot;http://img328.imageshack.us/my.php?image=abed7yt.jpg& ;quot;>this</A>. Crafty, eh?

can't explain about sudokus... they don't require general knowledge or a way with words - or even numbers, as they don't involve maths. Just a feel for a particular sort of logic and enough time. I enjoy them; I enjoy cryptic crosswords too but have too often been left with a few words unsolved, which is irritating; by contrast, sudokus get easier when you're near the end, which gives great satisfaction!

Jude, without going into detail - I'm in a spacious sort of garden suburb, where everyone has 100ft gardens - and yet it's also (I read somewhere and am not entirely sure I believe it) the number 2 or 3 spot in the country for murders! Mostly overspill from meaner areas nearby, and mostly drug dealers killing each other, but still. I personally have never seen or heard anything untoward, however, so I don't want to overdramatise.

I think I have a fair idea of where that is Jno !!
Yes Sudoko requires that all important logic of which I have little, according to Mr: S. who reckons you need logic to load the dishwasher and I tend to just bung it all in and hope for the best.
I have to say anything involving numbers fills me with horror as Mr S will testify when he has tried to explain the mysteries of the spread sheet to me and also my old maths teacher ,who no doubt is long gone would say the same !
It is so cold here today I wouldn't be surprised to see some snow .
Hope you are all having a nice weekend despite the cold weather.
Mind you on my perambulations with Shane this morning there were one or two trees full of blossom and lovely forsythia in bloom.

Ooooh, jno lives in Midsommer!

Lol Gessoo I've got no idea.! :o)

Morning all

Robinia - I hope you are feeling better today. I didn't say anything before but since last Thursday I have been on antibiotics to try and get rid of this cough I've had for weeks and touch wood they seem to be working.

Hope everybody else with aches and ailments are feeling better.

I'm off to my Dad's now with his dinner - see you later maybe. Bye for now x

Hope you're all having a peaceful Sunday. I've just had a little cry at the children's choirs singing on Songsof Praise. I'm by no means religious but they were brilliant!
Hi Jude
Just looked at the shopping thread again ...what a rude person
Do we really want american style hustle whilst shopping? I don't think so !
Had a nice Sunday so far ,weather not great though ,been raining all day here and cold.
Just doing my last bits of the crosswords and then going to watch the Royal .Don't think I'll bother with that David Jason thing though.Have a nice evening xx

Hello and Goodnight! I just had to add to the shopping thread. Bl**dy woman!! Obviously thinks Jude is about 18 as well. Grrrrrr, Angry noises and all that

Gessoo

Night Night

See you tomorrow

Goodnight Gessoo and Shaney xx

Thanks for support on shopping thread! I find it quite comical really!! :o)

Good morning biddies and a special hello to Dolly. My computer is going so slowly that I cannot be bothered to log on, and I can never open up Vinny's special offerings so am missing out. Busy cleaning the house and have resisted until now the lure of the Biddybank. Back now to the scrubbing and cleaning. Will try to visit again later. Love to you all xx

Good Morning Biddys....lovely sunny morning...and no Wind....(no jokes pleeease...!!)Would have popped in on sunday....but it was deserted...bit like derbys ground....hehe....oh...they won....well done...jude.poor netti...are you on dial-up....perhaps yer putta needs defragging....?A little vid of our boys enjoying themselfs....

No vinny I am on broadband (adsl) seems a bit better today but cannot view your putfiles.

Hi ya Vinny Pleased to see you're on form with you vids.Lol! I think Derby are safe in the league now!!!

Hi Neti My putta went slow on Friday and I had to do a bit of a 'clean-up'. It's ok now.

Robinia Hope you are getting better. Missing you.

Gessoo Thanks for your support on the shopping thread. I've decided to leave them to it. Carol Anne is so dogmatic and there would be no convincing her that there are decent and hardworking cashiers in Supermarkets. She just shows herself up for what she is!!

good morning world... trying hard to look like a nice day out there, and the daffs are sparkling in the sunlight; hope it lasts... I got fed up yesterday and took my foot to casualty; it had blown up to about the size of Belgium and was throbbing. A nice young doctor - he said he was a GP who did a bit of hospital work rather than a specialist - gave me some diclofenac and co-codamol which he hoped would work and <frantically touches wood> it does feel a bit better, and look smaller, this morning. (Now only the size of Rutland.) But lordy lordy, the aches and pains biddies have to go through. Those whippersnappers in B&S think a pimple is the worst that will ever happen to them.

feeling happier

Best wishes to all those feeling below par... and all the rest, come to that. What's this shopping thread that's getting up people's noses?

Good morning

Jude, I have added again to the shopping thread! Have also been quite rude to someone on the phone this morning - she was rude to me so I bit back. First time I have done this since doing this job! It felt quite good.

jno This is the thread in question, where supermarket check out staff have been labelled 'fat lazy slobs'. The person concerned seems to think that it's quite acceptable on this site to speak one's mind regardless of who it upsets. So, how long have you lived in Midsommer - I now think you are John Nettles (as well as the Ed. of course)!

Question Author
got a link, gessoo? I can't find it. As I have already advocated banning everyone but me from supermarkets, I can't very well have all the staff sacked as well, otherwise who will pack my purchases and sweep the path before me as I leave?

Whoops, sorry jno. Got so carried away, forgot the link!

oh, same thread - couldn't find it for looking and thought it had been banned. Tut, what rudery.

gessoo here's my garden, more in Midspring than Midsomer really (last year - not looking like that this year yet! Think I'll have the oak tree pruned this year, it's getting too shadowy in the afternoons.)

http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/3038/garden8cv.jpg

afternoon all - here I is. Still feeling up & down & a bit irritable so I'd better steer well clear of that shopping thread.....I think she just said it to get a reaction.
I have to say I can't remember when I last had any problem at all with a checkout operator in any store. However, & I do hope they're not your friends Jude, there are a couple of women on customer services in Homebase who definitely went to the Anne Robinson charm school. I did almost lose my cool & was totally surprised as I've always had nothing but excellent service in there before.

Sorry to hear you had to go to casualty jno, hope it wasn't a long wait, but glad that you're seeing an improvement.

Lovely day here at the moment but it was soooo cold first thing & my sister had snow in Leics yesterday. I've been practising close up with my camera, I've only used it on auto up to now.....who knows what you might get to see.....steady Vinny....

spot the weed

That's a really lovely garden, jno

Here is part of mine. It was May last year. We only have a small pretty bit really. The rest is quite informal -well wild actuall!. Half acre is too much to garden, and besides the birds like the wild bit!!
