Cor jude,that would make a lovely pub...hehe...only yoking....I will try all the churches...um...the Swan inn.....etc...but ive only got 3 days....got to leave here 4:30 in the morning....get in about 12:30..im gonna be cream crackered....!! did you go to Birds today....um...bet there was no custard tarts left....yep ,I know....some other well known lady from derby..knicked em all...I reckon she queue's about six in the morning....hahaha...! this is gessoo going swiming...hehe...

Vinny That No. l apparently is heading for No l because at the mo you can only down load it off your computer for some reason or other!! A bit beyond me as you may have guessed! But that's what they said on Radio Derby. Birds gets a visit from me on a Saturday. Hope there's some left when I get there! It's a brill bakery lots of lovely goodies.mmmmm.:o)

Hi Robinia I hope you are feeling better soon. We were going out tonight but my friend is ill again, poor thing, she has some sort of virus in her sinuses so to cheer ourselves up we have booked to go and see Bryan Adams and Kedleston Hall in July. Also going to see a musical called Vampire Rock at The Assembly Rooms. Don't quite know what to expect but it includes the music of AC/DC Bon Jovei and Queen.
Morning to any biddies who visit on a weekend - white rabbits! Shame Vinny isn't here to play jokes on....I'll have something worked out for when he gets back...maybe we could soak his sprouts in food colouring & turn them all pink.
Bright and very breezy here & a tad colder I think....still got my smacked head feeling but at least I had some sleep last night. Doing cryptic crosswords at 3.30 am isn't my idea of fun. And I'm not very good at cryptic...where's shaney when you need her? lol
Sorry your friend is unwell Jude but I'm wondering if I have the same thing as her. Just assumed it's infection as I've suffered in the past ( I've been to ENT & he said they don't mess around with sinus' so much now unless it's exceptionally serious.Too many risks & no guarantee of cure apparently).
oooh my house is looking very dingy in this sunlight....have hardly done any cleaning this week - yesterday my bathroom was like the old grotto...a big spider had run around & made a huge web from wall to wall.
Hi Robinia. My friend says her head and jaw and gums all ache down one side and she is taking painkillers at the mo. She says she'll be alright for going out tonight though she thinks, but I'm not banking on it. Don't worry about cleaning or anything until you feel better, when you do, you'll wizz through it. Put my washing out earlier and had to dive out and fetch it in when we had that April shower then blow me if it didn't clear up again!
We're going to miss Vinny's jokes aren't we? Hope he enjoys himself.Cambridge is a lovely place.
I've been speaking to a Brian who runs a Crossword answer site and he says he's come across us biddies by accident don't ask me how, but he likes Vinney's jokes and notices Shaney and me going into Q & P a lot. That's when he put 2 and 2 together and thought we were connected with the 'biddies'. What do you reckon to that then?

Hope you are feeling better Robinia ..sinuses ..not nice.I had mine drained when I was about fifteen...awful with metal tubes up your nose etc. it was the most miserable summer school holidays I ever spent. Never cured it and still suffer from time to time. Mind you since we have been living here on the coast I think the sea air helps. It certainly clears the old tubes on a blustery day.

Hi Shaney Just nipping in at half time. (0 - 0) The man, Brian, I've been speaking to doesn't come from Derby. I've only met him through the web site he runs. He gives the answers to the Sunday Express Crosswords. I'll find out what his AB User name is if I can. He's probably reading all this now...ha ha!!
hurrah there is life out there! It's a very quiet day around here although the noise of the wind is probably drowning out 'people noise'
I've only just pegged my washing out - neighbour phoned & I forgot I'd done it. That's twice this week I've done that! It's funny to think only a short while ago it would have been getting dark at this time.
Jude It's odd isn't it - there might be lots of people out there reading this thread - and probably wondering how & why we are still allowed out!! I did google something recently & our grotto thread came up as one of the results!
shaney - the ENT doc said that they don't do the sinus washing much anymore for that reason - it often doesn't work & is very unpleasant.
I've got lots of pain in my teeth & jaw too btw Jude so I'm having to suck my cheese on toast....
greetings from New York - okay, it's not Derby, I know... I'm going to be organising my photos for a few days but just dropped in to say hello and listen to everyone's aches and pains... honestly, I actually had to buy a walking stick while away, my left foot was so sore and me trying to wobble around SoHo and the World Trade Center site; old age is such an ugly thing!
