Please get rid of ChatterBank

for a trial period of a few months (to begin with).
The consequences of the tribal associations and enmities that originate in CB affect the rest of the site because of the troll postings. Getting rid of CB might result in the loss of some regular contributors to other sites but you could gain more new users who are put off by the abusive/profane/stupid nonsense that appears on this site far too often. Once CB is gone the current system of reporting chatting would suffice.
Make this a proper Q&A site, reduce the social networking aspect.

I certainly share the question author's sentiment. Perhaps Spare Ed is correct so. maybe one just has to accept CB's existence along with other things of the same ilk - News of The World, Big Brother, etc. which one nevertheless cannot quite ignore because it spills into other areas of society and life in general.

"Don't you just love the ABusers who think they are better than anyone who posts on CB?
It seems like snobbery to me. "
It works the other way, too. I've seen questions asked in what would seem to be the "correct" category (particularly in "News") receive a terse "this has already been asked in Chatterbank" reply.

None whatsoever Vibra... thankfully. They have since tried to deliver two more parcels here though for the same man, I refused to accept them and they were presumly taken back to the depot. The police are convinced that the man is using our address as a decoy though, even though all the purchases can be traced back to him.
