should be used for teaching history
this was the original front of the house judging by the porch
and when refurbished they might have turned it around
( made the back into the new front )
secondly when built it had a hole in the manorial roof
to let out the smoke
and when chimneys were invented - one was tacked on at the side....

the barn on the left is a studio/office with the huge picture windows that minty refers too, the side on the lane is fairly mundane, apart from another porch. It's a little bit of an odd house as it only has three very large bedrooms en suite (apparently), but, then downstairs, there are three decent-sized reception rooms, one a study, a splendid parlor with an enormous inglenook on that main chimney, and then a good-sized kitchen and two porches, the one facing the interior that I have shown, rather nice inside.....
