'When things go wrong, as they sometimes will and life's a struggle - all uphill...' Can anyone tell me the poem please? Not the cheeky version I found on a birthday card ! :-)

Evening all - had a throat full of razor blades today, although I feel quite well - have given the house a thorough clean (yes, old george had his hat on!!) he doesn't get to go for walkies very often whilst family is at home. He gobbled up the dirt and cat hairs, made me quite proud.

oooohhh... <staggers in wincing from osteopath> I may have to give up this jetsetting, I can no longer sleep straight in an airline seat and I can't sleep crooked without having to go and be disassembled and put together again afterwards liike a jigsaw... and the reassembly never quite works, however he does it I am always missing a bit of edge and have too many pieces of sky... Well, a bit chilly here today after the high 80s and occasional 90 I have become accustomed to in sultry Virginia, but at least it means I will be spending less on Diet Coke. I think I shall sit motionless in my chair for a while and sort out my photos.
Evening, all. I'm here to tell you the tale of my Dances Alongside the Nile. Oh alright, so maybe I was just in the audience - wise guys. (At my old colleague's students' performance, remember.) It was great. The students ranged from beginners to advanced, from fit to fat, from children to biddies. The youngest ones were only four years old and they didn't go the whole hog. Their instructor was with them on stage, dressed like a man in a kaftan and fez - and a false moustache which fell to the floor moments before they all swirled off into the wings! I almost imploded with suppressed laughter seeing that moustache lying there so forlorn in the limelight and seeing the instructor - now dressed in her invisible cloak - hasten back to pick it up again.

One of the students, a young woman, performed a Belly Metal Dance (cf. Heavy Metal), her own invention. The music she'd chosen was When Angels Deserve to Die, which was oddly appropriate (orientally dancable, that is.) One of the groups did a folk dance, a stick dance, and that was fabulous too. I shall practise at home.

My friend is not among the advanced dancers, but I greatly admire her spirit - or should I say her guts, ha ha ha- ...oops, there goes my moustache, shouldn't laugh so hard at my own jokes.

Welcome home, jno, I wrote you a song while you were gone. Go back for three posts on page 141-160: the introduction including a link to the original lyrics, the new lyrics by yours truly and lastly but not leastly a particularly euphonous version of the melody, posted by Robinia.
