Dry lips

For many years I've used Neutrogena Lip Balm and it always worked well. My lips without balm, dry out and feel tight and uncomfortable and I've been told this is because lips become addicted to this kind of excess moisture.

My lips now build up a horrible dry crust of dead skin, which can be peeled away. Does anyone know of any good products, which will keep my lips feeling soft and hydrated?

Thanks

Unfortunately Vaseline has never worked for me.
I like Elisabeth Arden 8 hour cream (bit vaseline-esque). I also love a juicy tube (lancome) never suffer with dry lips so must be doing something correct!
ps Nivea do a good SOS lip balm too and lots of peeps I know use and like Carmex.

Thanks Beads, I might try Carmex, never tried that before. I bought a new one on the market a month ago, called "softlips", which is supposed to be Vitamin enriched, but it made things worse. And it was about 7.
BOOTS do a nice one in their Botanics range
......then there is aqueous cream-which I seem to be recommending a lot.
I seem to remember reading a while back that vaseline was one of the worst things to use because it does not actually replace moisture.
CARMEX!!!

I was recommended it by a pharmacist in madrid in the summer when my lips got horribly dry and uncomfortable.
Its amazing stuff, i cant live without it now. I have one in evey bag. I prefer the little pots, but you can also get a squeezy lip balm style thing, which is good for convenience.
Makes your lips smooth and tingly!

Thanks Kira. Is Carmex that one that comes in a very small pot? I prefer a traditional lipstick type balm, that doesn't involve dipping fingers in, do they make this type?
Blistex ( formerly Blisteze ) is excellent
Hi,
It comes in various forms, see the link ive attached.

People I know really like Carmex. Think you can get in a lip balm pot or a stick too! If you have dry skin on your lips it may be worth exfoliating that off first.
My lips got all swollen and really dry and cracked after and someone from the Boots Pharmacy recommended Cymex and it was fantastic...

oh no your cursed with bad lips too lol, yeah i have exatly the same problem. but my lips burn too ! :(

i use z great lip products. Blistex :D

its more like a cream than a balm. And its just brilliant ! It gets to work straight away, it sinks into the lip too so it doesnt get rubbed off :) and it makes your lips look good even before they are better. makes them look slightly fuller and just the right amount of glossines.

Yeah Blistex is all that works for me.and its cheap !!! you can get it almost everywhere, in every pharmacy or just shop really .
I thought vasaline would be good but infact it made my lips worse !!!! it made them burn more and dryer. !!

hope ive helped:)
try lard
