Right ladies
The sun is out the sky is blue and it may very well hot up a bit a bit soon which means less slap. .This winter has taken it's toll on my skin and in spite of exfoliating ,cleansing and whatnot it looks dingy to me .
I don't expect miracles at my age but just need something to brighten my skin a bit and make it look a bit fresher .Do any of you use face packs on a regular basis and if so what can you recommend .

Was hoping one of you would know, it's degenerative and I mustn't walk too far or do gardening ha ha, love it! Rest when it hurts!

My thyroid is beggaring about again so he has doubled the dose, so this weight gain isn't my fault (oh yeah?) Actually the doc said I am probably eating too much, cheek! Everything else is normal, well they didn't scan the brain!

Have started xmas shopping as I have to get in in the post. Done older sister now, a pair of black suede boots with fluffy lining and nice thick but light soles. A light but warm sweater, an elegant neck scarf, and a beautiful black necklace very delicate with a flower ! Have reserved another pair of the boots for other sister as I treat them the same but the other gifts will be different. Now to see if I can afford postage.
sqad has confirmed that it is artritis! I am crumbling away!
Google translator says osteoarthritis, but Sqad is prabably more reliable
so that'll 600mgs then daily?
Am well impressed with the Spaqnish sysrem though, had xray yesterday afternoon and today doc looked it up on his computer and there were all my boney parts (oh ha ha bonaparte). No more trailing negatives about.
I've answered on t'other thread in B&S neti :o)...it's all coming back to me now, I had a spinal xray some years ago & they said there was evidence of arthritis & sent me to the fizzio, who was very good ...and very funny. But gardening is compulsory, exercise is good for you, get out there :o)
I have been told to keep active Neti - just not to carry heavy stuff or dig gardens. Walking is fine as long as it's not over uneven ground. You must get proper walking boots and supportive shoes though and give up your stilletos and flimsy shoes.

My right hip was hurting like hell when I woke up this morning. Spending a long time in bed is actually really bad for arthritis. Use it or lose it!!!

(Goes out to buy Neti a wheelbarrow and some gardening tools and sturdy walking boots!! ;o) )

Neti I have had osteo arthritis since my teens!!
I'm going to my osteopath on Monday to have a sort out. Cranial osteopathy which is gentle but has worked in the past.
Lottie, I have got a Mma Ramotswe traditional build...not so much jodphurs but plenty to sit down on
No good for me then Woof! I have a horrible bum and want a bigger rounder one and I have no waist to speak of. Sort of like a rectangle on legs. I don't have big thighs either. I would love an hour glass figure.

This is me

I'm, more top heavy but thighs and legs are very slim.

Just sold a computer chair and delivered it so went to English place where they sell food cheap, and got a rhurbard crumble for 1€ as it will be out of date in December. We'll have it tonight with inst cstrd. I hate crumble but like the price and rhurbarb (can't get it here). On way back I had a flat tyre, so luckily Mr N has shown me how to use the compressor, so managed to get home. Felt really good about it as usually would have to call Mr N!
Hi all. Just got back after a hunt for Baileys at £9 + but there's none left. So I'm having a sulk.
Those leggings from M & S look lovely Woofy. I would love them but I'm skinny all the way up so I would look awful.
Could my aching hands be artheritis does anyone know please?
Yes it could well be Jude x Rheumatics of some sort or the other. Arthritis just used to get labelled 'Rheumatics'!! I think most people get aches somewhere as they age. Not that you are old Jude - far from it.
Lottie If I can't walk anywhere uneven then I'd have to stay in bed all day as every room in my villa is on a slightly different level, and then all very uneven until I get to the village (about 10mins away!)

Clouding over, gonna rain!
sorrry, Jude, I just bought the last Bailey's tanker north of the Thames.
Mr N's just trotted out to fetch a take-away curry, oh yum!
Laughing out loud about the Tanker Jno...I've still got oacouple of bottles to keep me going! Watching CIN till 8. The Mastermind then back to CIN.
Lottie my hands have started to be more painful lately and I'm putting it down to the weather. I might take some paracaetomol when I go to bed, but I don't want to become reliant on them.
See yer later
Went to docs. Had a nice talk about aches and pains and IBS and funny turns and feet and he said he liked my new boots!! He is gorgeous and I feel better just looking at him.

Apparently, my funny turns are due to something called 'Dumping Syndrome' which can be associated with IBS/Ulcers etc and also stomach surgery. He said I mustn't worry to much about it. Also suggests that tomatoes might be a major cause of my arthritis flare up and IBS. Apparently loads of people suffering from rheumatic illnesses can't eat tomatoes. I love tomatoes :o(. Must admit though that I have felt good for the last week and I haven't eaten any!!

Dumping Syndrome - not a very glamorous sounding ailment is it!!! Mustn't drink with a meal now and would be better to have lots of small meals and cut down on sugar and carbohydrate - the symptoms are very similar to diabetic episodes. Must admit I was getting worried that I may be diabetic, even though blood tests have never shown in.

Sorry for diatribe - had to just tell you all.

Jude - got your message, but unfortunately hadn't been near my mobile all day. Found your message at 5.30pm when I turned my mobile off in the GP waiting room.

See you all tomorrow - off to stir me curry and put the rice on.

Evening all
Aw ..poor old Jettybetty ....welcome to the screaming hips club . I've been degenerating for years .And he's " doubled "your thryroid dose ? You'll be bouncing off the walls :) They only up it by 25mcg at a time here .

Went to the hospital this morning for the results of Mr.S's scan .Pleased to say he has the all clear for another six months ,so he's a happy man and if he can just get his bladder to calm down he'll be even happier .
It's been a lovely day here weatherwise .
Jude you've probably got Hebdens Nodes starting in your fingers if your hands are painful . Rub some Traxam gel into them at night .You can buy it over the counter .
Otherwise no news from Shaneytowers .
Hope all Ok otherwise ..see you later .

PS I love those trousers Woofy but they would show off my huge knee :(
so I stick with my uniform ones of M&S black jersey bootcuts .
My back button is still not working .
Hebdens Nodes... is that somewhere near where the Brontes lived?

Glad to hear some good news, Shaney
