Right ladies
The sun is out the sky is blue and it may very well hot up a bit a bit soon which means less slap. .This winter has taken it's toll on my skin and in spite of exfoliating ,cleansing and whatnot it looks dingy to me .
I don't expect miracles at my age but just need something to brighten my skin a bit and make it look a bit fresher .Do any of you use face packs on a regular basis and if so what can you recommend .

Brilliant news Shaney. And thank you for the diagnosis. I feel it could be that cos my knuckles look a bit nobbly and my index fingers looks like they're bending towards my little fingers. Only slightly but I can see it.
I will try some of that stiff you suggested.
I hope you're feel better now you've talked to your Dr. Lottie. He sounds really a jovial type. Not to worry about the message. It was only said in as a bit of a joke!!

Mine are like that Jude .The little finger on my right hand is totally bent at the joint .I can't straighten it and I've got very knobbly fingers which swell up at times .The joints will nip and nip while the nodes grow .Once they get to a certain stage the pain stops .Hence I cannot get any rings over my knuckles and I can't get my wedding ring off !
I have a terrible job peeling and chopping stuff .And ..I drop things ..and break them .Or shoot a tray of yorkie puds all over the floor ..hahaa....No cups and plates are safe in this house :)

Good morning from a sunny but soggy Ibiza.
Well done to the shaneys, things are looking up.
Had a terrific storm in the night, last for hours but clear again now. Must say hip is aching like billyo, but I didn't take myolastan last night as i also do not want to become reliant on pills. Wish I had now!!
I have one very disjointed finger which used to sting like mad but now it's all knobbly it hardly hurts I put it down to arthur itis.
Those trousers look too elegant for me, when I'm relaxing I like elasticated waists, and as my waist is large in proportion to my hips they would be uncomfortable,
Off to do weekly shop with Mr N, will see what luxury items my hips need!!!

Neti my new trousers are elasticated all over, as comfortable as pyjamas. You won't get reliant on pain relief and it won't stop working. If whatever causes the pain gets worse or you get pain for a different reason or become unable to tolerate the tablets, then you might need to do something different but if a dose of whatever makes your day easier then it will continue to make it easier. I am speaking professionally now not as a person with painful knee although I have found that its true. Ps this advice includes Baileys and "my brother's whiskey"
Nets, Woof is right about the tablets. I am better with mine taken regularly, except for my IBS. Yesterday the doc prescribed me with stomach protection tablets to take alongside the ones for arthritis. The arthritic tablets are not like pain killers that you take when you are in pain, they act to reduce the inflammation (which in turn helps with the pain) and are best taken regularly - unless you get adverse symptoms.

Although my waist is large by comparison to my hips I can't wear elasticated waistbands because the trousers gradually fall down over my flattish bum and hips. I need a fairly firm waistband to keep them up - there is no shelving below the waistband to keep them in place!!!!! :o(

hmmm, I see I still have the poppy when it should be back to my Charlie avatar...and, same as Lottie, I'm on IE9 and the back button doesn't work on here but it's ok everywhere else. Maybe a little less focus on music & xmas and a bit more on the technical workings on here please. This site also gobbles up far more bb than most other sites (unless they're really fancy ones with a lot of video type action).
The first two fingers of my right hand have been painful for a long time & they look slightly twisted....and I've long since lost my grip, haha.
Shaney my mum had very bent little fingers & they did offer to operate to straighten them but there was no guarantee they wouldn't go back again so she never bothered.
Well I spluttered a bit at 'Dumping syndrome' Lottie, I'd never heard of that one, but I've googled it and I could be a dumpee too! I have the 'wobbles', often late night, when I sweat & feel sick & faint & I'd wondered about diabetes. Well I never. Can you go back to your doc and ask about my headaches & painful arms please, he sounds very good? :o) Has he prescribed zantac/ranitidine? I wonder if that would let me to take stronger painkillers?
And finally a massive round of applause for Mr S, good news at last, it must be a huge relief. Hope he gets things under control very soon & you'll be able to go out and about more.

I've decided to go into M & S and try some trousers on. I'm going to try all sorts on and just see what really suits me best. I wear jeans nearly all the time and I get a bit fed up of them.

Jude thats how i ended up in velveteen treggings. My uniform has been Cotton Traders cotton trousers, green and grey for dog walking, navy for tidy. Joggers for cold days at home. My trousers were all looking tatty and i needed a change. fancied jeggings last year but they only had them for very thin people so when I saw these in traditionally built size I jumped and I love them. I have never had cosy smart and comfortable trousers before AND they machine wash and tumble dry AND no ironing
Robi, I best make another appointment with my dishy doc to discuss your ailments then. He really is dishy - looks very much like Adrian Lukis in many ways. He sat there yesterday lolling back on his chair with his feet on the desk. Nice dark brown cords and a lovely soft brown cashmere sweater. Ooooohhhh. It's a wonder I can actually talk to him I act like a silly teenager.
