My OH cant get out of bed this morning because of severe dizziness. Normally I wouldn't be too concerned, however in 2005 he had similar symptoms that ended up leaving him deaf in left ear. The specialist said it was quite possibly due to labrinthitis. What would you do???

LABYRINTHITIS (whoops)
I'd call 111 and see what they think.
Permanently deaf?
9yrs ago...dizziness and deafness in the left ear.......due to labyrinthitis.

You haven't mentioned the presence of nausea or vomiting or any ear symptoms, deafness or ringing.

Is he on any medication?

How long has the dizziness lasted?

hc4361 makes a relevant and good point about his left ear. Partial deafness or total deafness?

No other symptoms! No medication! And yes permantly deaf. The only noise he can hear through the damaged ear is like wasps in his ear!!
OK...then his right ear is "at a premium"...important to him and if that goes he is really in trouble.

I would get a medical opinion today as he may well need steroids by mouth...either GP or get him to casualty.

Whoever seems him make sure that they appreciate the importance of maintaining hearing in his right ear.

Keep us informed.

Forget 111....waste of time.
