We're getting close to Christmas! Traditionally this is what you've been losing weight for (in anticipation) - is it going to be tiny portions on Christmas day, or are you thinking "Sod it, it's Christmas!" (Although I am thinking that already - all downhill from here!)

I have lost 2 stone 3lbs from end of July and have done it slowly by being able to eat almost anything in moderation. Going on these fast quick loss diets are no good as you can put it back on twice as fast. I gained 3 lbs over xmas but I am back on track. If you can drink unsweetened grapefruit juice in the morning that helps me but if you are on certain medications you cant have it. My motto is cut out the crap and if you don't buy it you can't eat it.I will do a deal with you .I need to lose another stone after I get this 3lbs off. that I gained over xmas.See who does it with a regular small weight loss each week.See you Wednesday Onwards and Downwards
Hi AB ed and everyone my goal weight is nine and a half stone. I have half a stone to lose now. I started on this diet/Onwards and Downwards quest at 10st 5lb.
This week I have been eating healthily, now that all the Christmas food has been eaten. I feel better for eating fruit and vegetables, it's made a difference to my mood and made my skin glow.

Happy New Year everyone. It is for me.
I lost half pound over Xmas and another half pound over New Year. Not much I know, but better than putting it on. So Ive now got to my 1 and half stone loss in 14 weeks and my target is to lose another stone by end of Feb (my birthday). My OH doesnt think I will but Im determined. Everyone says how much better Im looking already so that has given me confidence.
All of you seem to be doing well. Congrats. O A D............

Hi The OTHERHALF good for you. I will be along with you on losing that stone by end of Feb.I am rectifying the 3lbs I gained over xmas first then it's all systems go for that stone. I don't think I can do the 2 stone to compete with you TIGGERBLUE for march. And NOTAFISH well done and yes you will feel better in yourself .Onwards and Downwards
Hi, theotherhalf, Try this because it works for me. When I have eaten something naughty my conscience gives me so much grief about eating it that it takes away any satisfaction I got from the eating and lasts longers than the eating bit. Now I just say an easy no I'll have something else because I can't be bothered beating up myself.
Hi XSTITCHER I finally got that turkey rashers in Asda yesterday I always use my george forman grill and I can't tell whether I liked them or not as I think I cooked them too long and they were tough and could not eat them . But will try them tomorrow again. And yes you are right I have to say no to myself at times that is why I stick with the motto if I don't buy it I can't eat it but that is not always easy when some of you have to buy for the family.I keep choc biscuits in for grandkids but I call it their secret tin and I don't touch it.
Hi Wendilla, Yes you might be frying them too long. I only give them about a minute or so on each side......just had my weekly ration for lunch and enjoyed them so much.
Had a lovely time in Copenhagen meeting the new granddaughter and visiting the one year old twins...boy and girl. All my grandchildren live far away so I don't have their treats to tempt me.

I have lost 10 kilos over 16 months but have quite often "stood still". I did put back 2 kilos in the summer but they are gone again. I find that when I don't do my exercises it is much harder to loose. I have almost reached my goal and could stop now according to my doctor but I would like to reach the goal I sat for myself. I never ever want to go back to where I was before. Onwards and downwards.
Woops I was very naughty sunday dinner. Daughter came for dinner . Had pineapple upside down pudding and single cream. It was ok to have 1 piece but there was a piece left and I could not stop my hand from putting it on my plate and eating it . It just shows that I am not always in control .But I am now thats why I say if you don't buy it you can't eat it but when you have people for dinner you can't give them a yougurt lol.Well wednesday will tell. Onwards and Downwards
I'm loitering around my original target still, couple of pounds on but attainable, I want to get back to target before I go on holiday in Feb - then aim for say another half stone off by the summer. It's not a huge target but having been overweight for so long, I think small is attainable for me - if I set myself a massive loss target, I'll be fazed by it. A pound off here, a pound off there, seems to be working slowly, people are noticing, which is all encouraging!
Boxtops, my lovely lady doctor has told me to set attainable targets instead of pie in the sky ones. When you get to it then you can up the ante again which seems to be what you are doing and good for you. I have never been overweight before I quit smoking so this huge female I caught glimpses of in shop windows really shocked me. She's almost gone now thank heavens.
