Am I pregnant?

We are currently trying for a baby.  Since I came off the pill my cycle has been all over the place although this is the longest that I've been late (6 wks). I have done a preganancy test last week but it came back negative?????

When did you come off the pill?  There isn't really any way of us telling if you are pregnant or not.  You should try taking another test in a weeks time or something, occasionally the pregnancy test might give you a false negative.  I'm afraid it just takes time to concieve, but hopefully it won't take too long, good luck.

My friend gave birth last week and her first pregnancy test came back negative - but she was pregnant.  However she was on the pill at the time - so I've no idea.  I hope you are - if that's what you want.  If you're 6 weeks late (as opposed to 6 weeks since your last period) that would be a stronger indicator.  Won't hurt to pop to the GP though.  :-)

I'd try doing another pregancy test, but first thing in the morning I've heard it's supposed to be more accurate.

When I got pregnant I took a First Response test (the ones that are meant to detect 4 days before your period's due) on the day my period was due and the day after and they were both negative. It took another week til I got a positive. It can just depend on how strong your hormones are so don't give up just yet. However when you come off the pill your cycles can be irregular which can unfortunately get your hopes unnecessarily. Best of luck.
