I got a call just after 10am to say that Nan had deteriorated and probably wouldn't last the day. I got here as quickly as I could and we have all taken it in turns to sit by her bedside. She's been on a morphine and Midazolam drive since yesterday and the nurse gave her a further shot of Midazolam this evening as she was restless and agitated.

We will continue to keep a vigil throughout the night, but I really hope she slips away soon.

i join the others in offering my sympathies, i was in the same boat with my grandmother in 1999. let us hope that it is all over mercifully quickly - then you can sort out final affairs and plan for funeral & moving on.
