Is there a group on here at all? I did search, but cannot find one.
It's day 15 for me, and I've come very close to breaking down and lighting up, but just typing this has helped me to see the folly of my ways!
I'm not throwing 15 days away for a fag!
Would be great if there was a cheer squad/support group here, so please point me in the right direction if I've missed it.
Meanwhile, 20 a day at almost 8 quid a pack has saved me £120 already. Unimportant, however when the craving really hits!
Well done voulez-vous, please stay positive think about the smelly clothes, standing outside in the rain smoking on your own while your mates are inside enjoying themselves, not to mention the cost of 20 cigs. I gave up 3 and a half years ago, there are times when I would just fancy a cigarette, but it soon passes. After all this time (and going cold turkey) it would be stupid to start again. Just one cigarette does matter, don't be tempted to go down that road.
End of another smokeless day, so feeling very chuffed and actually dealing with it better today! Today was a good day, especially as I went out for a meal (with wine) and didn't (haven't) wanted a ciggie. (yet!)
Thanks askyourgran, alinic and Chilldoubt for your supportive comments, it really does help!
SO...can cross off another day on my calendar tomorrow. That feels good.
I'm sure I'm not out of the woods yet, but every day feels like a little battle and hopefully a little victory. Day 17 here I come!
Keep busy so you're not thinking about them, like you did today, that's the answer. When you are sitting at home doing nothing that's when you start to think about them and want one.
Well done v-v.
From one who tried many times to back them in and eventually succeeded in 1984 and hasn't even wanted one since.
Thanks shoota! Think I may be a little out of practice with this snogging lark!
At least I'll be minty fresh, although the very thought would send me straight down the road for a pack of B and H :-))
Shoota seems like a busy boy! ;-)
Meanwhile, I'm here, (with minty fresh breath) and in 1 minute can mark off day 16 on my calendar!
This is cool for me..............but still no instruction on the kissing...........good gawd, where is the advice, Shoota??!
Well done Voulez.
I gave up about 34 years ago. I didn't smoke much but even then it was not easy to give up.
I'm the least squeamish person on earth but even I can't watch that govt. info advert about smoking when you see the tumour growing on the cigarette...Yuk!!
You've done so well - keep it up!! x
Keep it going Vv, two landmarks on the horizon.
Soon be 20 days then 21 (3 weeks) straight after, double bonus!
After that it's 25, 28 (4 whole WEEKS!) then 30.
Make sure you use your new found cash supply for the odd treat, you've earned it.
Must admit admit i have the ashtray in the conservatory at mo, to remind me of the horrible smell of it when it is being used with horrible smelling fags.
Ha ha --Who am i kidding? I'd love just a small puff right now, but I WONT.
