Best thing I ever did - nothing to worry about - no heavy lifting and if I remember correctly no driving for a while (think it's in case you have to brake hard) - I shouldn't have done but I rode after about 4 and a half weeks and had no recovery problems what so ever. Hope all goes well for you and that you have a speedy recovery.
Take all the advise from the staff at the hospital take all pain relief that is offered. Once you are on your feet (about 24 to 36 hours afterwards) keep going for little walks to stop yourself getting stiff. Whilst recovering I used to kneel down to do simple tasks as I found it easier. I also retrained the family to help with small tasks such as putting clothes in the laundry basket that was relocated next to the washing machine.
I hope all goes well for you having a hysterectomy was certainly life changing for me for the better.

I had a GA for a minor op a couole ov years ago and that, coupled with pain killers, knocked me for six so do not set yourself unrealistic goals cause you get well moody when you don't achieve them. Make sure you got a lot of books and DVDs, it's very dull not being as mobild as you would like to be. I remember my mum needing a lot of help round ghe house ag the time so make sure you got help with chores and shopping.
