Joints of my fingers are darker on left hand but less discoloured on right. No pain or swelling but they look dirty, which theyre not. Any ideas what this is please?

Looks like too many punch-ups at the local pub. Try hitting them not so hard.

Nothing common or indeed sinister, hits me in the face.

Are you suffering from any underlying disorder? e. diabetes.
Are you taking any medication?

Look forward to your replies.

tambo.......i cannot think of a better suggestion than yours of unilateral Raynauds Phenomenon.
I would see you GP as if the diagnosis is confirmed then early treatment gives the best result.
He may well refer you to a Vascular surgeon.

surgeon to cut off my fingers? Forget that - youre the closest I will ever step towards a surgeon but thanx anyway

No change of needing surgery Tambo look here
http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Raynauds-phenomenon/Pages/Introduction.aspx
Just go to your GP , You may not need any treatment at all just keep warm and get some gloves!
tambo....Vascular Surgeon?
There may be many causes for this OTHER than Raynaud's phenomenon and-links to such a a diagnosis are totally inappropriate at the present time.
A Vascular Surgeon would arrange investigations to exclude other causes of Vascular Problems.
I have not opened the link by Eddie, but i disagree with his statement that "you might not need any treatment at all."
^ sqad the link says that in many cases, exercise, keeping warm and wearing gloves is enough to stop symptoms. Some cases may need medication but no mention of surgery.
Eddie...it does, but i don't agree with that advice. If, and it is a big if, the diagnosis is Raynauds, then in my opinion, early treatment is essential, not necessarily surgery.
Thanks Sqad , yet another case of someone preferring the opinion of an on line web site over actually seeing a doctor!
(surgeon to cut off my fingers, forget that!)

Eddie, only one hand is affected, everything works so its not an emergency. Ive read the diagnosis & its good enuf for now.

The truly sick are welcome to my place in the surgery.....for now.
