So why are you stimulating your brain by being on the computer?? You should be in bed and counting sheep or whatever.
I took Nytol for quite a while about 12 years ago. It worked well for me sleepwise. But there was a problem.
I had e high blood pressure. At the chemist one day I was getting my bp pills and I said oh I'll have some Nytol too. The pharmacist asked were all the pills for me. When I said yes, he told me that was why I had high bp. Apparently Nytol is notorious for causing it.

because diddly i am bright awake, not just dozy like some people,
Stay on the computer if you want to emmie. Nothing worse than lying awake tossing and turning. Go with the flow and try to adjust it gradually. Keep busy during the day so you don't just sit and doze, and go to bed a little later every night.

There should be something appropriate, emmie, even if you only do top half and breathing etc. Is it pain that is waking you?
I know that's the problem, emmie, but if you keep dropping off at random times throughout the day and go to bed at stupid-o-clock (children go to bed at 8pm), you can't expect to get a full night's sleep. Just try to adjust it gradually and see how you go.

Question Author
i went to bed at 9pm, had taken one at 8pm was fast asleep by 9.05 or before, i have this constant headache, not alleviated at all by the naproxin
Emmie...slightly off topic. But some dietary changes MIGHT help your knee/joint pain. I've found that staying away from wheat and grains helps. I also started taking high strength fish oils about 6 weeks ago. My knees still give me some grief when I've been walking awhile, but they recover much quicker and don't ache like they used to.
