Are you forgiving?
167 Answers
You can say all you like about me but one thing I am is forgiving.I have had a few ABers apologise for their behaviour since coming on this website and I have forgiven all of them.If someone had done something terrible to me all they would have to do is say sorry and I would forgive them instantly. However I think most people find it hard to forgive so I was wondering. Are you forgiving?

What is forgiveness ?
Is it something you 'do' to them, or a state of mind in yourself ? Presumably they have to know you have forgiven them for it to be of any use. What if you forgive someone and tell them you have, or forgive someone and *not* tell them. What is the difference if any ?
I think forgiveness is something you do inside yourself for yourself.

Hmmm... Don't think I could forgive someone who murdered my child. Kill them yes, but not forgive them. I guess that means I'm not very forgiving!
That said... in general terms of forgiveness without going to extremes (like murder) then I'd say most people are pretty forgiving. And there's that old saying about trick me once shame on you, trick me twice shame on me that pretty much covers most horrid ex's I find.

if my girlyfriend left the top off the toothpaste, then I may forgive her, but just once and then it's a one way ride to dumper town. she might feel thesame about the toilet seat but i am well trained.
but if sharon stone came round my house and sat on my sofa and hogged my remote control for an evening, i'd say oi, sharon. you may be an international superstar of the silver screen most notable for flashin yer beaver at some coppers, but naaah, you aint touching me remote so gerrof and buy some undies you hussie.
so i reckon i am an unforgiving type.

I did try to apologise a few months ago and I got an e-mail from milly143 saying that all was forgiven I was really shocked by this but unfortunetly no one else accepted my apology even though I was genuinely sorry so I thought there was no point in even trying to be nice as it would get me nowhere.Anyway beck to my original post.
