I have been given 10 Diazepam pills by my Doc today for anxiety and panicky stuff but don't worry it's not a regular dosage thing so I don't plan to get hooked.

Firstly I am getting panicky over going to hospital on 30 Jan at 0730 and this would be the kind of time I'd expect to use these pills, what would be the best time to take them for the best effect so I can get through the trauma of hospital?

Secondly as I drive for a living how long should I wait after taking one before I am safe to drive?

did you not get a leaflet with them. I doubt your GP would prescribe them if they were dangerous when driving but check the leaflet to be sure

No leaflet with them but he did say there was no way I should be at work if I was on them
what strength has he given you? if it's 10mg you won't be driving anywhere. If it's 2.5mg they'll just take the edge off your anxiety and won't knock you out. I take it you're not used to the effect of them so they will/should be the lowest dosage.
I think you should try one before you go to the hospital and see how you feel on them.... you may realise that actually you cannot drive on them.

5mg is the correct answer!
no leaflet?
I thought pharmacists had to put the leaflets in with them so you know what side effects there may be and can read up on when and how to take them and all the other things you may have forgotten the GP advising you.
okey dokey 5mg lol... you could break one in half and try it. Then you'll get an idea of how they are with you.
I too hate the blumin hospital!!! so I wish you all the best for your visit..... :-)
I had these given to me for anxiety and I never took them!! Just having them there took the edge off because I knew I could take them if I needed them. I did take one on the recommendation of my doctor, just as a 'test' to see what effect it had prior to the event I was worried about (a wedding) i.e to check I didn't go to sleep or anything. You could try that. I was advised not to drive while on them, I don't know how long for. Good luck x
iwbus? are you going in for an endoscopy? they semi-knock you out anyways :-) or is it the other end lol.... been there too!!!
