Ive heard this so many times>> " Ive been slogging all day, Ive done three loads of washing and dried them and ironed it all"

What a cop out!!! three loads of washing equates to about five minutes work, putting it in the machine and taking it out, and then putting it in the tumble dryer, OK it takes a little longer if you actually hang your washing on the line!!
I have only learned to do ironing in recent years, it really is the easiest job on the planet, and so many things these day don't even need ironing!! I could do it all day long and still feel refreshed at the end of it, I cant believe that so many Women still bang on about this being such hard work!!

I'm just lucky carakeel isn't one of them!!

Its a walk in the park!!!

ive been busy today. Not only have i put on 2 loads of washing but ive also just tumbledried the cat!!!!!!

I don't say that, but I do stop washing his clothes now and again just so he knows what a pain in the backside it is to have to do laundry.x

LOL Ratter, I have to agree! With todays modern technology and labour saving devices 'doing three loads of washing' is not the same as it was 30-40 years ago! Imagine how it was for your mum though, eg - terry nappies that had to be steeped, then boiled in the 'boiler' or whatever that thing was, then transfered to the spin dryer if you had one, if not then wrung out and put through the mangle!!! I for one don't envy that.

I guess with all that to do they genuinely didn't have time to moan Ratter. Actually loads of other things, steam irons - i remember my mum having to iron with a damp teacloth to 'smooth' the shirts, dishwashers, blenders, choppers, microwaves, everything seems so much more convenient nowadays.

They may well have "just got on with it" but chances are they weren't working the same amount of hours if not more than their husband, and then coming home to a bomb site!!! Ooooh, you've touched a nerve!!!!lol.x

my god the damage done to the planet to make womens lives easier.washers,dryers,hair straighteners,hair dryers,microwaves etc etc etc.yuo women should be ashamed of the energy you waste so u can sit eating chocs and reading take a break
