Older men and youger women

I'm 17 years older than my wife, age has never been an issue for us although it was for her parents but they are ok now.
What age diffrence would other ABers find unacceptable?

i wish it could have worked between my and my ex - but at 20 years older that me (i'm 22) I felt it wouldnt have. Thinking about it more, it was also because we are at very different stages in our life. I could potentially see problems for us in the future. If two people are at the same stage in life I dont think it makes a difference. If i had wanted to settle down straight away it would have been fine but i have a lot i want to acheive and acomplish in my life before that happens. Its a shame.
I prob would try to stick to men around 30yrs old now....

Hi johnlambert (and everyone else!). Interesting debate :)

My partner is 24 years my senior. And before anyone replies with the usual smirks and outraged comments, I have heard them all (and I mean ALL!) before. We have a great time together, we've been together for 4 yrs, and we are in it for the long run :)

I won't be engaging with people who are offensive and insulting about this...I have had enough of that in "real" life!!

Age is just a number, my man is 19 years older than me, I've had people look at me as though I'm mental for being with him but him being (very near) 50 doesn't matter to me, I love him for him not his age!

The most common question I get is 'is he rich?' He's not but even if he was I wouldn't expect a penny off him, his love is all I want, it sounds cheesy and vomit inducing I know but it's true!

To all those in age gap love I say enjoy yourselves, you only get one life so enjoy it and love who you want!

I never said, but I wouldn't find any age gap "unacceptable", it is more the age-I would think an 'older' person of either sex shouldn't be in a relationship with anyone under 16.

My nan's sister has been happily married a good 20-odd years - maybe more - to a man about 20/25 years her junior! It depends on the individual circumstances I think!
