Good Morning All,

Well like the temperatures outside my weight has been up and down lately. I'm sure it has to do with me being "lost."

Hope you are all getting near your goals.

Well done notafish. You must be feeling like a million. I hope that you won't leave us. We still need you jollying us along as we all work towards our goals. I think you are our first success story.....am I right Wendilla?
Yes, I do feel great. I feel like a bit of a fraud when you say I'm a success story, as I only ever had just over half a stone to lose in the first place. But it's a great success to me. And I'm very grateful to the people on this thread, and inspired by their loses because they've been a lot more committed and pro-active than I have. Thank you again :-)

Oh notafish, you are being too humble.........any loss takes will power and stick to itness so give yourself a big pat on the back.

By the way in case you and Wendilla hear of the earthquake in southern Spain which I just heard about on Sky News, it's not very near us and we haven't felt anything.
Thank you again. Good to hear the earthquake isn't anywhere near you, thanks for the reassurance.
If I start to put weight on again, I'll come back on this thread for inspiration and support. From your original thread called "weight gain " to this thread now, there are well over one thousand posts!

WOW who would have thought it. !!
Hi notafish congrats on getting to your gaol. I hope you will still come on now and again and let us know how you are doing . You will still have to be careful to maintain your weight as it can be so easy to put it on again but I am sure you will be fine.
Jules well done on your loss. Keep up the good work.
I feel now that I have got rid of the devil and I am listening to the good fairy.
Yes XSTITCHER it is nice to hear of someone getting to there gaol regardless of how much they lose. Glad earthquake is not near you

Well done notafish - It's sometimes harder to lose just little weight than when you have a lot to lose. because it tends to come of slower so you are more likely to become dishartened. I only want to lose just over a stone now and I am definately finding it harder than when I lost the 3.5 stone. Still, I will keep plodding away at it.

Onwards and Downwards.
Hello,

I went to weight watchers tonight with my friend as she had a free voucher and I lost a fair bit of weight on it a few years ago. I can't get my head around the new diet at all and I hate weighing! I'm sure the one I did didn't have any weighing of food, it was slighly different and although there were obviously points involved it didn't seem as fiddley or finicety as this one... plus you get 49 extra points just to play with?! I don't know, maybe I'n being negative, what are other peoples thoughts and experiences?

I'm going to read the slimming world stuff (I brought a CD with 2011 diet on it :c) so far, as much as I've looked at has seemed far more appealing. I really hate classes and am not interested in that aspect of it but I feel like I need a form of structure. It's just deciding on the damn structure I'm struggling with!
went to get weighed at ww tonight,i lost 2 lbs, yeeesssss????? so pleased.i have been determined this week to loose, when i was out with my friends on tuesday they all had fish and chips,i had baked potato with tuna filling and side salad,it was actually quite delicious,so i hope i can do it again this week
Well done Slinkykate .How good you were to resist the fish and chips. 3 weeks ago my friend and I had lunch after shopping and we went with intentions of having a prawn bagettee. We read the menu 2 meals for the price of one so guess what we had .
Chinadoll I am not downing WEIGHTWATCHERS or any slimming club. I went to WW years ago myself but all diets and points don't suit everyone, The only way to lose gradually is to cut down on bread and fatty foods. Eat healthily plenty of chicken and fish .and veg. Weighing food don't suit everyone. I swear by grapefruit juice every morning and if I don't have that I seem to crave for sweet things but everyone can't have that if on certain medication.Write everything down you eat daily and plan your menus for the week. And have the odd treat. My motto is cut out the fat and the crap.

I agree with Wendilla, we all have our own life style changes when wanting to loose weight and what might suit one won't suit another, however the main rule is slowly, slowly and exercise no matter how little you can do. I can see that my gain is not due to eating so much as total lack of exercise. I have taken your grapefruit juice idea Wendilla and changed it to my "sweet" after dinner. It seems to put a nice finish on the day's eating and like you say leaves me feeling quite full. The grapefruit down here are about the size of an orange when peeled and so delicious.
Yesterday I watched my friends eating the most auromatic sugary donuts with their coffee while my halo got brighter and brighter. Look at it this way....had I lost the fight and had one my conscience would still be bothering me and that memory would be a neg in an otherwise great day out, instead of all memories being great and leaving me with the certainty that I can say no.
Hi Xstitcher do you get the cartons of unsweetened grapefruit juice your way that is what I have I don't seem to be able to eat the actuual grapefruit which I would think is better for you.
I don't like grapefruit and I don't think I can eat it anyway, I've never checked because I don't like it. I'm taking bloodpressure tablets.

I find for myself that being weighed each week helps me to keep on the straight and narrow - Well most of the time - And SW doesn't involve much weighing. I have found the diet quite easy to follow. I haven't tried the WW one goo luck China Doll.

Well done slinky.kate It's a great feeling when you get on the scales to find you have lost. I'm struggling this time round. but - Onwards and Downwards.
Yes Jim I am struggling too this time. I lost 2 st and 3lbs last year but since xmas could not get back on track but now I feel I am as I can't undo all the good work I did. I am now aiming for the other 2 stone before October and I will come on here next Wednesday with a loss. Onwards and Downwards

I haven't seen the unsweetened cartons here or at home but I do like the whole rigamarol with the peeling of the fruit and making it into boats before I eat it. The longer it takes to prepare it the longer drawn out it the whole enjoyment. I don't think I will be able to eat them like this at home as they aren't as sweet. I expect the secret is that they are ripened on the trees here.
Morning everyone and well done. Lots of good weight losses so well done. I was a bit disappointed last night as my scales showed a 2lb loss but theirs showed I stayed the same. I cannot understand it really as Ive been exceptionally good these last 2 weeks. We had a good tasting session last night. Lots of good ideas and then I went with another SW member to our first Zumba class to work it off and by heck, we did. Great fun though but Im aching this morning.

I have a mix of grapefruit and orange most breakfasts. I buy the tins though as I dont have much time for anything else at 5.30am when I have to be at work. I love it. Other mornings I will have a boiled egg and Natural yoghurt with fresh fruit and a tsp of honey or I will have fresh melon with fresh fruit and natural yoghurt. Ive grown to love them all. At one time I couldnt manage without my cereals and toast with jam.

Have a good day everyone x
Still struggling but managed on 14 syns yesterday...feel more positive this morning and walked part of the way to work approx 1.5 miles really briskly as I wanted to see how far I could get before the bus was due.... will try going out 5 minutes earlier tomorrow so I can walk a bit further.... made some SW scotch eggs last night so have one for lunch with my salad just nice to have a change... can't really have much fruit juice on SW as tooo many sins especially as I can drink it by the carton so have changed my diet cokes for sugar free squashes it helps a bit...and I'm less 'wired' too.. oh well onwards and I hope downwards...
Morning all.

Had a bit of a "bad" weekend (read: stuffed my face and guzzled a fair amount of gin) - so I'm suffering a little on the scales. Still, only a Kilo and-a-bit away from the target (which I think can be done in the next two weeks - my deadline).

Going to limit myself to one beer this weekend - that should see me within grams of my goal.

Good work Rowan, wish I had the motivation to do anything 5 minutes earlier than I should!

Good to see you might be joining us China. We provide a little structure here if this is the kind of thing you're looking for? Report in on Wednesdays (or there abouts) and confessions/victories are announced. Generally speaking it's working for me!

I really take my hat off to your working people and mums. It must be so hard being out and about and sticking to your rules while seeing and smelling the delicious things others are having. Well done all of you.
