Onwards and Downwards Continues in February

Looks like everyone is making a special effort at the start of the year after the indulgence over the holidays.

Well done to everyone!!!

With Valentine's Day coming up why not try something more healthy instead of the traditional chocs or dinner out?

Does anyone have any tasty, low fat recipes for treats or romantic meals at home?

Here is last months thread

A Dieting Prayer

Bless my bathroom scales oh Lord,
Each week as I step on,
Help me lose a pound or two,
And not put any on.

Keep me from temptation.
From chocolate and from chips,
Keep my willpower going,
Just in case it slips.

Help me count the calories,
Steer me away from sweets,
Keep my sweating palms away,
From naughty...

Thanks for all your kind wishes. I'm "done" now in both eyes and am wearing a patch until tomorrow morning. Everything went like clockwork. I went into the operating theatre at 10 and was home by 10:45....eye a bit uncomfortable but 2 asperine type tablets fix that up.
Hope you recover soon xstitcher. Do you feel like a pirate ? well heres a joke to cheer you up. What do charge a pirate for having his ears pierced. A buck an ear. Sorry, I know but its only really a kids joke. Get well soon x
Luv the joke............
I had no pancakes, under-ate by a bit yesterday, and still went up in weight over 24 hours. Not fair. :-( Congrats to all that are doing well. Glad to hear eye sorted ok xstitcher.

Keep me from the cake shop Lord,
Away from buns and crumpets,
And if a cake is in my hand,
Give me the strength to dump it.

Help me enjoy my salad,
And foods to make me slim,
Keep me on the low fat track,
And one day I'll be thin!!
That is so good Maggie. Thanks for putting it on. I am trying to think what I can do with it.
I am going to print it out and put it on my fridge door.
thats great maggie. will take it to show at SW
Good Morning All. I'm starting to think of weigh in days as woeful Wed. As you can guess I went up, and why did I go up ...... because I wolfed down a ½ bar of cooking chocolate..and why did I do that....I haven't a clue, seeing as I don't eat chocolate..ever!!!
Why was it in the cupboard...because my OH likes a choc. dessert sometimes which I make for him and never taste myself. hmmmmmmmmmm
OH dear x stitcher that is the sort of things I do. I keep choc in for my grandkids and sometimes when I think of it in the cupboard it worries me and I have to eat it .
But last week I gave the devil the sack and keeping with the good fairy and lost 2 lbs . Now I have got a start and weather is getting better I will keep at it. I just cut out the fat and the crap. (and the choc lol)
Morning all and well done wendilla. I have learnt that lesson xstitcher and now don't have anything like that in the house. Mind you it is easier for me as I am on my own and just shop for me. Good news is back on track this week with 3lb off which I am very pleased with. 4st 5lb off now and moving in the right direction still, thank goodness.
Well done Jan you are getting on super. I don't normally have choc in house only when it's school term time . So my motto for most things are if I don't buy it I can't eat it .But sometimes you just can't help your hand from taking it off the shelf. One day I made myself put it back after walking off. I am trying to do 10lb before end of March.
That's the bonus of shopping on line wendilla, I'm not tempted as much and even if I do slip the occasional treat in I normally come to my senses and remove it before the shopping time is up. Good luck with the 10lb. I would like to do the 5 stone by then so we both have something to aim for.
The scales are claiming up another ⅛ lbs, but I don't believe them. I sometimes wonder why I bother monitoring and limiting my intake if reality isn't going to play ball.
Am I the only one who finds it a pain to post something, then go do something else, only to return ages later and see the login request was returned while you were doing other work ? Going to be one of those days, I can tell.
I have never experienced that OG.....
I couldn't be bothered with anything less than 100 grams OG. All scales vary a bit from weigh in to weigh in without it being your weight....just try weighing yourself 3 times in one hour.
I think the problem is I was lower about a fortnight ago, it went up inexplicably, and is stubbornly refusing to shift. Rather offputting. Wouldn't be so bad if I were not trying.
1¾ lbs down for me, yay, getting back on track now, well done to everyone else who lost weight. btw did anyone else see the programme on tv last night called 'The truth about exercise' - basically there are scientists who think that there are genetic reasons why some people don't respond to exercise and that some people who could get away with just 3 minutes of high intensity exercise a week! - I'm off to get an exercise bike although I probably am a non-responder.
Aye saw that. A minute every other day sounds the sort of exercise I could cope with. But as you point out, what if your body doesn't respond to it ? All those wasted minutes when you could have been eating !
