Hello all,

A very happy New year to all our Onwards and Downwards crew. I hope you all had a lovely time over Christmas and let yourselves have a treat now and then. I expect we shall gain a few more members this months, well the more the merrier I say.

We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.

Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!
Here is last months thread

Hi Jan, great news about your latest half stone. Thinking of you tomorrow and fingers crossed for your liberation!

Spotit3 - Chin up my friend, you've done it before and you can do it again. I'm stuck on no change since Christmas but I do need to get going again. I know I'm trying hard on some days but in denial on others. So I'm eating my light lunches and healthy suppers and then going out for a meal with chips the following night! I'm back on track now and determind to lose another few stone before the summer.

I think most of us has been struggling this last few weeks but we know we have to get back on track. We will do it. Onwards and Downwards for next week.
You're right Wendilla, we can do it - despite Christmas and despite this cold weather we will be back on track this week if we stick together. :-)
Well done Jan, 8st lost is a fantastic achievement!
I lost 1lb this week, but think I will have to just throw away the goodies left over from Christmas as they are just too tempting when you're not used to having them in the house. Every time I go to let the cat out of the kitchen door, my hands wander into the biscuits, which is not good. So either the biscuits go, or the cat does.
Good luck everyone for next week, and well done for all the weight losses :)
Another three pounds off. I'm delighted - I'm hoping to lose another 9lbs before 18th February.
Weighed myself this morning and wished I hadn't. I've stuck ridgedly to my diet and I've ended up putting on 1lb! How the hell did that happen???!!!

I have been feeling a bit bloated this week though with womens problems. Could that be the reason?
Water retention is one of the things women need to factor into any weight loss effort tiggerblue, We can gain a few pound around the time of menstruation that will disappear fairly quickly afterwards.
Yes Tigger that will be the problem just persevere till next week and you will be well surprised.. I used to find once a month I would not lose .
Well done Lydna.
I think most of us will get the last of that xmas goodies off Kacee. Please don't put the cat out it is too cold lol
Thanks Daffy and Wendilla. I'll put it down to my period and see what happens next weigh in :o)

Well done Kacee, 3lbs is a brilliant loss :o)
Thanks tigger, but that praise goes rightfully to LyndaB. Wish I could lose that much in a week lol.
I hope you have a better result next week.
Don't worry Wendilla, I only put the cat out when left with no choice due to her scatty behaviour and making it quite clear that she needs to go out. Anyway, getting up to let her out means more exercise ;)
Well hello everybody from sunny Spain where I shall be for the next 3 months. We arrived to a very damp and cold house having been away for 8 months and the house didn't like that. Among things that have succomed to the damp is our scales which are fairly new hmmm. We will be getting a new one on Thurs. Worse than the scales was my digi box which has also gone on the blink and out for repairs at the moment.

Those of you who have lost have done so well and for those of you who have maybe not done as well as hoped, don't give up. Everytime after a weigh in a NEW week starts and hopefully new determination steps in. All the best of luck, onwards and downwards.......
Ok, so im joining you lot in the diet healthy/eating thing, today we have been out and bought a load of green stuff that I really dont recognise along with plenty of fish and olives that I love.
Welcome Ratter. We just try to help one another with ideas for healthy eating. We normally put our weighing up on a Wednesday and our moans when we feel like it.
Ok, will weigh in on Wednesday :-)
Hi ratter and welcome.

We've just dug ourselves out of our snow filled lane and gone for a ride. We stopped for scrambled eggs on toast (OH had side order of fries which I resisted!) and we called into the grocers for more fruit and veg. If I have it I eat it, if I don't I scratch around and end up in the biscuit tin. Its hard not to comfort eat in this weather, but a bunch of grapes and a hot drink filled the 4pm gap before our dinner later.
Hi Maidup just like me if its not in the house it don't bother me but if it is there it worries me to death and nothing will stop me from eating it in the end. I live on my own but I have to keep things in for my grankids and it must be difficult for people with families. Now I think we have 2 gentlemen . Og and Ratter.
Gentlemen ?!?
Gentlemen ? Lol. Not sure about that.
I am sure you are both perfect gentlemen.
Oh I say.............
