Good Morning All, Blimey, despite going mad with the shortbread I have gone down two pounds. The only explanation I can give is that everything else that I have eaten must be right. At any rate I don't recommend everybody casting themselves over shortbread. I just happened to remember some being left over from Christmas and once remembered was the beginning...

Good Morning All,

Our scales seem to have gone completely haywire this morning....there is no way that I have lost so much in one week.....over a stone. The battery is one of those round ones so that is number one on my shopping list....I'll way myself again tomorrow. I wish it were true......sigh......
Gentle ((huggs)) to you Jan.

I wasn't around last week but back today with my oh so familiar "no change".

Running out of ideas now ........
Sounds like someone's scales acting as badly as mine :-)

Up ⅛ lbs (after not believing the first reading and trying 3 more times to get 3 identical readings).

Not too bad really considering I've been away on a course for 2 days, eating larger lunches than normal, and even off to a restaurant one evening.
Sorry Jan, in my fury at my scales I forgot to give you a cyber hug and say that we understand but hope to get you back on track when you are ready.

Yes OG I think that our scales are related. I have had the battery out and in again but no change in the result. It just can't stand still on any number although they are all much lower than last week's reading which is giving me hope.
The fish recipes seem few and far between. Are you all like me and a bit weary about doing fish?
Excepting the breaded plaice last night, it's been a week or more since the last proper oily fish (one has to get it fresh so it's a case of being in the supermarket at the right, time or at least that's my excuse) so no, I've been thinking I must go get some more soon.

Just realised, I have no idea what I'm cooking this evening.
Morning as I said last week I won't be weighing today . I have stuck religiously to my healthy eating plan as I have been playing around too much staying the same losing one gaining one just can't go on like this so I need to see a good weight loss to give me the initiative to carry on. I feel I have lost but will wait till next week as I had planned. Don't forget the batteries Xstitcher.
This is the problem OG if you don't plan your meals out for the week .
Thank you all for your kind messages. Pleased to say that I have lost 3lb this week. Not celebrating yet though as it would have been my 28th wedding anniversary this Saturday, the 20th, so think I may have another difficult weekend coming up. July really is not a good month for me! Good luck to all of you.
Good for you Jan. You were married on my birthday so there will be some sinful eating going on here on that day and a glass or two of champagne perhaps.

I think that 3 lbs is an extremly good loss especially when you say that you really haven't been paying much attention to what you eat.
Happy Birthday to XSTITCHER. Have a super day with your familyxx
Well done Jan x

Happy birthday Xstitcher, hope you have a lovely day :o) x

I've lost 2lbs this week!
Yeah for you Tigger....and thank you all for your birthday wishes. I just had a man at the door with a bouquet singing happy birthday to me....arranged by my stepson who is away on holidays....what fun!!
Happy birthday xstitcher, I hope you had a lovely day.
Thinking of you Jan xxx
Well, I think I have had two holidays - one in tenerife and one in Corfu - since I last contributed to this thread, so it was with some trepidation that I climbed on the scales. Bad news is that I am back to what I weighed at Christmas. Good news is that I am NOT back to what I weighed in September. I'm now trying to get back on the straight and narrow eating more fruit and veg and cutting out the amber nectar.

I have some fish recipes. My favourite one is easy as pie. Make a dressing with soy sauce, honey, garlic and grated ginger. Boil a sheet of noodles and then run them under the cold tap so they don't stick together. Chop up whatever salad ingredients you fancy - a bit of fruit might sound incongruous but is delicious too - and mix the whole lot together with a handful of king prawns.

Another easy one - put a salmon fillet on a piece of tinfoil, top with a couple of slices of lemon, season with salt and pepper, wrap tightly and bake in oven for 7-10 mins, depending on size of fish.

Last night, we had swordfish which had been cooked in just enough olive oil to top it sticking to the pan, with lemon juice squeezed over it. Served with Mediterranean roast veg and a few new potatoes yum yum
Thanks for the yummy recipes Lynda. Now that you have come back to our motivating company I'm sure we can get you back to where you belong....we'll
do our best anyway.
Welcome back Lynda it is so easy to gain but takes ages to get it off again. You have done it before you can do it again. Keep with us. Like the recipes.

Tigger well done .Keep up the good work.
Good Morning All,

Down 2 lbs. I stopped with the small meals. It just didn't suit me but having done it for 2 weeks it has helped me cut down on the portions size which is a good thing.
Morning well done XSTITCHER. Well my 2 week mission paid off I have been staying the same losing the odd pound then back on again so enough was enough I went for a totally healthy eating 2 weeks plenty fish and chicken and even had a carvery on Sunday but only icecream for sweet no eton mess. Total loss for 2 weeks is 6lbs. I am going to do another 2 weeks knowing I have been good I should see a substantial loss .If I do slip up I will weigh next wednesday but I am determined not to now I have got that kick start.
WOW Wendilla you are really doing well.....go to the top of the class!!!
