Good afternoon,

Sorry we're late - but that's because I am covering for ABAuntie.

Here's last month's thread

Did we survive Halloween?

I am off on a holiday shortly, and I am not "beach-body ready", this is a real picture of me:

Anyway, that ship has sailed for this trip in the sun, and I intend to mostly eat as many deep fried sea creatures as possible.

As always, it's difficult to dodge the "events" happening at any time of the year - especially when it comes to convienience. If you're going to a fireworks dusplay this weekend you might want to think about taking something tasty to keep you warm.

Now, it's not the healthiest thing in the world, but this butternut squash soup with chilli is the best thing for standing by a nice bonfire, or staying warm while you wait for someone to finally light the firework and run back at home:

What's your favourite outdoor-warm-food?

Maybe you could help me find the slimming world version of the above?

Either is still going to be better than something from the hotdog van!

.... Or do you all let yourselves go for events like guy fawkes night?

Thanks Ed! I'm didn't even notice that you were late!
Ditto :-)
Thanks for the update Ab Editor . have a nice holiday and don't think about us freezing our socks of here . have a treat when on holiday and rectify it when you come home . You can still be sensible and have a good time
Good holiday Ed!

No change for me today, still adjusting to the new season, but well into the butternut squash and pumpkin soups at this time of year.
Good morning all, no change here either. I had a light bulb moment yesterday that hasn't made me that pleased. All the weight loss that brought me to my first big goal, wasn't because of my efforts, it was that disease that was destroying my muscles! Now that I've got about 75% of them back again is why I have gained weight......and here I thought it was because of me doing everything right....argh!!!!
It's all progress. Not many want to lose muscle, we're all hoping to lose fat. Maybe your goal should be more size related than weight related for a while ? Pick a measurement and go for it ;-)
These colder dark evenings make me think of hearty, filling, stews. But as my weight has dropped into the 11St zone(well, 11St 13lbs)for the first time in years I'll carry on with the diet.
Darn it. Up 0.2 lbs over the week. Oh well; there's always next week.
(Weekends have always been a spoiler, and now I seem to have 3 day ones.)
Morning all well surprise surprise 2lb loss .I put that down to soup at lunch time .Despite my birthday lunch but did not have a sweet .And also no cake this week .Xstitcher yes you could be right there .
Well done Sandy aim to keep under the 12 st mark . OG off to the step with you . Its not a large gain so hope to see a loss next week .
That 2 lb loss is terrific Wendilla. I'm happy for you.
Aye 2 lb, I'd be really pleased if I could do that.
Terrific Wendilla and in your birthday week too! Very well done.

Don't you think us November borns are most at home with the soups and stews? Root vegetables R US!

Well done Wendilla :-)
i have only just discovered this section/thread. Hve just started slimming world, nd i'm finding it good so far (only 2 days in though!)
Good Morning All

Whoops I forgot but I promise I won't tomorrow. Hope all goes well with your weighing.
Good Morning I knew before I weighed it was going to be a stay the same but pleased with that as this is my pattern when I am not too strict .it will be like that next week but must try harder to get that stone off before xmas or near enough .
Agghhhhhhh !!!!!!

Yesterday's weighing showed I was the same as the previous Tuesday. Last week I'd dropped by Wednesday. This week it went up !!!

Up again; 0.8 lbs over the week.
Sorry about your disappointment OG.
Do you really believe that you can loose a stone between now and Christmas Wendilla? I'm not being a spoil sport but perhaps 1/2 a stone would be a more realistic goal. We'll be your cheering section won't we guys!
Good luck Wend with the aim of 1 stone. If I am honest I don;t think I could achieve it, at least not without drastic change and feelings of being deprived. But I'm sure you have a better mindset than I.

I'm unsure what I was doing ok in the past and not doing now. But I do know I find it increasingly difficult to stay on the daily goal. And it's got worse ever since I became unemployed. I now enjoy a longer weekend being with my woman, but my control over what I have then is minimal (and my will power to not enjoy the weekend rather weak too). 2 days in seven was a difficulty, three is not good. I was the weight I am now back in July 2012. I've just bobbed up and down since around then. It seems I stopped being obese and then stayed there. I need not a harsh regime I won't stick to for life (and probably not a month) but a real strategy. Even in the days I am catering for myself I seem to be eating what I've got before it goes out of date, or what my woman has given me as a loving food gift. I guess I simply have to get more stern but maybe I don't have the enthusiasm I've had in the past. Maybe I just need to eat more fruit that doesn't satisfy in place of carbs that does.
