Good afternoon,

Sorry we're late - but that's because I am covering for ABAuntie.

Here's last month's thread

Did we survive Halloween?

I am off on a holiday shortly, and I am not "beach-body ready", this is a real picture of me:

Anyway, that ship has sailed for this trip in the sun, and I intend to mostly eat as many deep fried sea creatures as possible.

As always, it's difficult to dodge the "events" happening at any time of the year - especially when it comes to convienience. If you're going to a fireworks dusplay this weekend you might want to think about taking something tasty to keep you warm.

Now, it's not the healthiest thing in the world, but this butternut squash soup with chilli is the best thing for standing by a nice bonfire, or staying warm while you wait for someone to finally light the firework and run back at home:

What's your favourite outdoor-warm-food?

Maybe you could help me find the slimming world version of the above?

Either is still going to be better than something from the hotdog van!

.... Or do you all let yourselves go for events like guy fawkes night?

no I didn't mean I was going all out to lose a stone just maybe over half a stone .i did say near enough . The way I go with staying the same I would not do it as I am not strict enough but I do try to be careful ..
What's worst for us, the sugar in fruit or the carbs? I really don't know.
i am doing slimming world - you cn have as much pasta and rice as you like. and as much meat as you like
Yet again I forgot to weigh in this week, I'm burning the candle at both ends at the moment and barely know what day it is. But I read about a new product this week and tried it. i have to share it with you all. Please don't judge it before you try it (OG!) as its absolutely delicious "free" food. We all love a change don't we?

PS You can find it in Asda or Tescos at the moment
A target for you all to aim at:

^^^ I saw her on the local news last night, what a wonderful success story. She certainly inspired me to try harder at my weight loss between now and Christmas
I think someone has posted about cauliflower rice on this site before. Perhaps I should try it sometime. I didn't realise they sold it ready prepared though. Thought you had to chop it yourself. Wonder if a couple of packs mid morning, mid afternoon and in the evening will work as snacks :-)

As for sugar and carbohydrates, each has advocates of taking them out of the diet but it seems to me the official view changes from time to time. I'd prefer to limit both as much as I can and yet ensure I have enough to still claim a varied diet. My trouble is that I find carbs satisfying. Not only crave them they don't get eaten and leave me wondering what next as some things can.

As for Cheryl, well good for her; but I can't help but have doubts about her skin shrinking back. Very lucky if it did well.
It was £1.99 for a single portion pack. I had the mediteranean flavour popped in the microwave for 3 minutes. Ummmm

I pay £1 for a similar packet of micro rice and felt happy to pay a bit more for this for the convenience.

For an in between meals light carb snack, how about some marmite rice cakes.? Luv 'em!

They taste great but rice cakes tend to deflate in the mouth and aren't really filling. I have them occasionally. I may try a pack of cauli tomorrow if I get to the supermarket.
What interesting rice. I hope it comes here. I agree with you OG eat with moderation, but that's fine when you have reached your goal but you have to be stricter while you're on your way to get there.
Oh and I once more forgot to weigh myself despite having the scales staring me in the face while I brushed my teeth. Aargh!

Don't sell yourself short Wendilla. You are so persistent in striving to reach your goal and always in such good humour.
I say it every month and so I'll say it again this month too....well done to each and every one of you for every pound/kilo you lose. All you losers are winners. Well done xx
That is so nice of you janbee.
Well, just to say I got some Cauli Rice. I note Tesco only does 3 of the 4 flavours. I had the Mediterranean version tonight with a rainbow trout. It was very pleasant. And at 92kC / 0.6 gms sat fat a packet, a good saving on a packet of real rice.

The bad news is that despite that I've gone through the goal for today already (again). I did say I'd not have whole fish, but stick to fillets, and succumbing to a whole one today didn't help. Still it's worth a try, and I've 2 more flavours to try another day.
i lost 5 pounds :)
Wow, good for you !
:-)
Very well done,Bednobs
Good morning all,

Finally I remembered to get weighed and oh my goodness NOT good news at all. I've put on 2 pounds...Wendilla did you send your loss over to me lol!

I'm eating all the right things and following our rules so it is quite frustrating. My rehab training is based on building up my strength and balance so could the gain lie there.....I just don't know. Oh woe is me :-((
