I do need advice as I am a bit numb when it comes to this sort of thing. If I was savvy I would not have sold me NEXT shares for 40p having bought them at 20p so you see why I need help!! HELP Chris

Even so, based upon the performance of F&C shares over the past year, 120p seems to be a reasonable offer to me:

The Bank of Montreal has made a takeover bid of several millions. The share price of F&C is now on the increase . The takeover bid has yet to be approved by the shareholders so you will have to make up your mind on which way to vote. I think Feb24/14 is the deadline so you should be getting a voting form any time now. You can check on the offer price and accept it or sell your shares now if the share price is more advantageous. I have shares myself in various companies but none in this one so I 'googled' F&C. and got this information.
Its an indicative offer so no document to complete yet, BMO have until the 24th Feb to make the offer which as at today price is based on a premium price of 28 per cent. Until the offer is confirmed no action required by you. If offer agreed document will ge sent to you for completion and return , watch out for closing date re sending form back. There will be a clause in the offer of the minimum percentage of acceptance required for the take over to be accepted. Not knowing how much you paid per share cant comment on accept or decline offer, only you can make that decision. Good luck.
