Does anybody know how to raise the most money as possible for charity by doing a skydive without giving most of it to pay for the jump, leaving very little left over for the actual cause?

I have always wanted to give skydiving a go - but can't afford to do it BUT i would never do a "charity" skydive. As i have never really got the point of it - it just seems like a con to me, a way of getting people to pay for your activity sports with a tiny bit remaining given to charity... so i don't think there is anyway you can get round this as thats how the con works! (i have always declined to sponsor someone doing it)

that answer is a bit harsh. i am terrified of heights and am doing a sponsored abseil to raise money for my daughters cranial helmet. i figured people are always being asked for money for some cause or another so they should feel as though i am putting myself out a little. As i am so scared of heights i thought a sponsored abseil would make people feel that they were getting something for their money (watching a grown woman shaking with fear). the place i am doing the abseil at are not charging me as it is for a good cause.
