What is the process to sell property yourself - i.e. without involving solicitors! If an outstanding mortgage is fully paid off, can you transfer deeds to the buyer, and if so, how do you do it?

Well I would imagine your buyer would want to use a solicitor and would not be too happy to find that they had nobody to correspond with except you ! I think it would be very difficult.
I acutally think you have to legally use a solicitor.
You can do it yourself. I sold a previous house of mine without using solictors - mind you, that was a few years ago. There was a good book by Which? that guides you through the process and gives you details of where to apply for the necessary forms etc. Might be worth checking their website and see if it's still available
