Applied for bank loan 2 weeks ago. Said they'd notify me in 72 hours. Still no word - after long phonecall it turns out they accepted application but never told me. Surely that's out of order - am I within my rights to complain? Luckily I had a backup plan otherwise I'd be screwed!

i cant see why you would complain.... they are not obliged to give you a loan at all!

BECAUSE THEY SAID I'D KNOW IN 3 DAYS! Hell, nobody has a right to money but I have the right to believe my bank.
it was a small mistake ... by all means complain, but what is it going to achieve?
Yes it is out of order but I dont know what you can achieve other than having it on record that you complained and they may look into it and make changes to their procedures. Everyone has a right to complain and some people would suggest voting with your feet and moving your account.
