Whilst not condoning this behaviour by a certain few, LBC radio decided to make this a news subject for their phone in.
Having listened to this I was surprised at the way this behaviour was criticised as being part of our British (but mainly English) behaviour when we are abroad.
Two callers one a Black male and an Asian lady, who I suppose would demand that they were British born and bred, were amongst those who slagged off 'The Brit's' culture.
The Asian Lady criticised the way British women dressed when they were abroad, with their skimpy attire and tattooed arms. Whilst the Black fellow chose to link 'The Brit's' aggressive behaviour back to the days of our Empire.
Why is this sort of criticism of our behaviour and culture allowed, yet if we criticise other's cultures and their behaviour, we are classed as being racist? Indeed it would never be allowed to be the subject for a radio phone in.

Join the drunken litter louts both male and female, vomiting in the street, aggressive, swearing and sometimes naked, mainly British of all colour. Pity those who have to clean up. They wander around half naked during the day and can’t understand why taxis refuse to take them. They go to see a doctor in beach wear and cannot understand why they are asked to put shirt, dress, or shorts and shoes on. They seem to lose their self respect when on holiday

Thought this was a phone-in? How do you know their colour and why do you think they would "demand" they were British born and bred. Would it matter when commenting on the behaviour of Brits abroad?

We do criticize other people and their cultures.
Either way I was quite annoyed seeing a massive brawl on a beach somewhere using weapons. The headline indicated that it was Brits. Regardless of the colour of the brawlers not one sounded like a Brit. Brits have been known to cause havoc at times, they certainly shouldn't get blamed for what other nationalities do.
Also, I wonder when other nationalities cause mayhem is it all over their news?!

Quite agree some do behave in a disgusting way and you are free to remark on it without being called racist.
But we have an epidemic of black knife crime killings on our city's streets, (much, much worse than spewing vomit all over the place), but are we allowed to condemn that as part of their culture? I believe not.

I never said anything about their colour only that they one was Asian, and one Black, due to their accents.
And just try and tell them that they weren't British, but then I think that their criticism about the British culture and it's behaviour was only focused on white British.

/// AOG - do you ever watch TV? Black on black crime has been talked about numerous times. ///
Of course I do, but it is never suggested that it is all part of their culture.
All one hears are excuses, such as depravity, lack of youth facilities, poor housing, lack of employment opportunities etc, etc.

I just can't understand why you are surprised.
Holidays abroad and especially cruises were for the Upper Classes or at least to the well brought up and educated middle classes, but now equality rules and opportunities for all, we have seen loutish behaviour abroad and yes, I am afraid to say.....mainly Brits.
Cruising is not what it was.....dress rules, codes of behaviour and cruises affordable to most......this had to happen sometime.....and it has.
No surprise here I'm afraid and it will happen again....and again.
