Hi...why are some people soo ungrateful. They post a question...... we spend our time trying to answer it the they never say thanks. Make me wonder why we bother sometimes :(

I always appreciate the time and effort people have gone to, and I am not sure if it is the done thing to post an answer in your own question section to say Thanks. ? But to anyone and everyone who reads this, I am thankful for all the questions you have supplied. Thanks for question kev!
When I was a young lad I remember complaining to my dad about how some people never said thank you if I held a door open for them, in turn he simply asked me if I was holding the door open out of courtesy or to hear people say thnak you.
It is nice to be thanked but overall not a big deal if they don't imho :-)
For me I just get a buzz out of helping other people. If I do a bit of research it's because it's fired something in me and I want to know the answer as much as the person asking. So for me it doesn't matter if they thank me or rate my answer, I just enjoy my enquiring mind. A thank you or a rating is just a nice bonus.
Hi again...thanks for the answers. It just bums me out sometimes...like this one dude who wanted some info on a song.....took me ages to find it for him. Had to do some real hard digging to find what he wanted and......nothing. I don't answer questions for any praise. I do it coz i like to...but when some one can clearly tell just how much work you put in for what they wanted and doesn't say thanks!! Grrr ; )
I think some people get so used to using stuff like Google and Yahoo etc... with automated answers, that they just don't consider that somebody here actually took time to give them an answer. Also it does seem that many people now consider that anything ''on-line'' is not real so it does not matter what they do.
Pity really because it is the small things like courtesy which oil the ''gears'' of civilized life and keep societies in good working order. The general lack of such things today might indicate that society is going down the pan faster and faster.
