I mentioned in thread below that during the night I was getting mild pains. I was only noticing them after I had been down to the toilet and they were wearing off pretty quick and not coming back til I got up and went back to bed again. Ive not had nothing else since. Just got up from a little nap and believe I have just had a show.

I know the shows can happen for a week or so before labour actually begins but with the light pains as well, is it or isnt it?

As I never had any when I had my daughter, I just wondered what are your experiences of having shows?

Im getting alot of mucusy discharge and some mild pains but nothing more. I dont think it helps I just keep sleeping lol Somehow I dont think anything will happen now til sometime tomorrow.
Sounds promising though Psychick , sleeping isn't such a bad idea if you are going to need lots of stamina soon. :-)

Morning ladies, no change. Still getting streaked mucus (sorry for the detail lol) had a few pains during the night like before but again theyre all over the place and still mild. Im going to try and stay active today in the hope it keeps things in there active too.

Whats the betting Im still saying this next weekend? lol
Morning psychick, don't know about you but I am on tender hooks for you! Any idea how long this could go on for, what did the midwife say?

Have you tried a hot curry, tweaking nipples or sex (whatever that is), and lets not even mention the consumption of man juice, oops too late, I feel sick now!

lol warpig, I may start trying some of those if nothing has progressed by the end of the day. Saying that though, as Im not actually due for another 15 days, I may just have to let nature take its own course and play the waiting game. Im sure if I keep getting streaks of blood though, they will intervene at some point. As for how long this can go on for, how long is a piece of string? lol When I spoke to the midwife yesterday, she didnt even mention things actually slowing to a halt like they did last night so Im guessing she assumed it will all progress and Im taking that as a sign that it will be pretty soon.
My daughter had your symptoms for 2 days (after her membrane sweep) before actually getting going with proper contractions psychick. Her pain started in earnest at 11pm and she had the baby at 3:12pm the following day.It sounds very like early labour to me.
I'm going to keep checking back here for news :-)

Hi daffy, how is your daughter and your little grandson?

Well, its been 24 hours now since the first show so I think I can put up with another 24 hours of waiting. Now would be a bad time actually because Ive turned the house upside down and inside out having a very thorough clear out and clean! lol Just sent my boyfriend down the tip with about 5 or 6 black bags of rubbish, nothing is safe from me at the moment lol
Morning Psychick , did you get much sleep honey? Sounds as though you are getting closer , those nesting clearing out activities are very much seen in early labour days. :-) xxxxx
Question Author
Morning bigmamma, didnt sleep too bad thanks.

Im not doing all this because of the nesting instinct as such, Im just trying to keep active as that apparently helps keeps things going. Ive said once Ive done here, we are all going for an afternoon stroll! lol If anything I should sleep well tonight eh? What is unusual though is the fact Ive normally needed a little nap by now. But I have been up since 8ish and still going strong!
My grandson is doing great thanks psychick,i've seen him every day except for one since he was born. I love having a newborn to cuddle again without having to have my own.lol. My daughter is very good with him and gaining in confidence every day,she is shaping up to be a great mum as I knew she would.I'm proud as punch of both of them! :-)
Hi Psychick, just read through your thread, am very excited for you. It is awful not knowing how long it is going to take. Hope everything speeds up for you and your little one will soon be with you. Good Luck xxx

Hi everyone, wore myself out blitzing everything and anything lol had a good nap though.

Just gave the midwife a quick call as Ive noticed the odd little blood clot. She says its nothing to worry about and probably from my pelvis moving getting ready etc. Unfortunately, she also said I could be like this for a couple of weeks! Arghhhhhhh!
Hi psy,

any movement this morning? Did bubs make an appearance in the night?

I doubt youll have long to go now, baby is far down and youre getting tightenings and a show.
