Is it or isnt it?
I mentioned in thread below that during the night I was getting mild pains. I was only noticing them after I had been down to the toilet and they were wearing off pretty quick and not coming back til I got up and went back to bed again. Ive not had nothing else since. Just got up from a little nap and believe I have just had a show.
I know the shows can happen for a week or so before labour actually begins but with the light pains as well, is it or isnt it?
As I never had any when I had my daughter, I just wondered what are your experiences of having shows?

But then I had to get my daughter up and off to school and after that I was feeling pretty good so decided to make the most of being mobile and went into town. Although I was still getting strong contractions, I was really timing them. Still getting them and timing them again, but now theyre a little over the place.
I have a question for you. All the time they were strong and regular, baby was fast asleep and I wasnt getting any movements. Then when baby woke and started fidgeting, the contractions seemed to change. Some are still really strong, but some are mild and like I said, they are all over the place. Is this normal and to do with baby being lively, or is it a sign things could be slowing down again?

Hi again , baby is usually still during strong contractions and it's good that baby is active between and during the irregular ones , this isn't unusual . Sounds as though you are in labour , be it early stage , and you may well be on your way soon . It's good that you are timing how far apart and how long in duration . Your contractions may be irregular at times at this stage but still getting the cervix ready. xxxxx
can you call your community midwife to see if she can come check you over?
Im so excited for you and yet now its suddenly dawned on me that itll be me soon lol
it does sound to me like its the beginning though, i cant see them stopping now. See if you get get on all fours to get baby into right position

It wouldn't do any harm to ring if you want , better to hear advise for reassurance and I am sure they will not mind at all how many times you ring. Now if I was your midwife I would do an examination to determine if you were dilating at all and feel the cervix for its stage . The contractions should get nearer together once you really get going as you know . xxxxx
So am I lol Waiting for news that is. Things have really quietened down now, apart from baby being extremely lively and seeing how much it can stretch me! Its amusing watching the shapes my tummy is getting into lol
My mum is 200 miles away visiting my sister in Notts this week and the pair of them are driving me crazy by calling every half an hour!
red, I would get down on all fours, if I could lol
Anyone got any suggestions for keeping things going?

The idea of walking is to keep the downward presssure of the babies head on your cervix , thereby helping with the production of oxytocin , the same reason for trying to help labour along with intercouse and nipple stimulation . Intercourse should not be attempted though if the waters have broken due to a risk of infection of-course. xxxxxx
