Thought i'd started last night, but no....
Morning ladies!
I thought i'd started last night and got very excited, but fell asleep and was gutted to wake this morning and realise that it had stopped. I know what my BH feels like now (well, i think so) - tightenings across my abdomen, and from what i've read, a proper contraction should be a period type pain low down with possibly some back pain... Well, last night i was lying in bed getting these low down period type pains and they weren't too painful but not subtle either. Was getting some back ache too although could have been how i was lying. and this happened quite a few times within the space of an hour and a half (yes, all the while, hubby is snoring next to me and i'm watching the clock go to 1.30am.....thankfully my loyal cat keeps me company!) Anyway, i've obviously drifted off becuase at 3.20 i was up for the loo and felt nothing.
I'm only one day over and i can feel the frustration really taking hold already. I've decided to get outside today (not been out for days) and tempt fate - going to mooch around the tesco extra (i'm weird, i like supermarkets!), buy something nice for tea and hope that being outside tempts fate... We'll see!
so could what i felt last night still have been BH or could i have started?? and can this behaviour go on for weeks??
morning Nat, Red, MBoo, Psychick, Warpig et al! xx

I called the hospital at around 7 and they said that it looked like things were progressing and to call in a few hours and if i wanted to go in to get checked that i could as that's what they were there for....
Been having tightenings/contractions/whatever since varying between 2 and 9 minutes (yes, 2!) but the average being around 6/7 and just called and been told that nothing is happening, i could be doing this for days and that while they are still irregular which they are and the contraction isn't starting from the top of my bump not to worry and just carry on with what i'm doing. Talk about conflicting advice!!! and she couldn't get the off the phone quick enough - like an "ok dear?! bye bye then..."
so looks like i'm just sat here waiting but i'll keep timing them till i fall asleep - may as well try to get some rest seeing as i've not been to sleep yet! will try to keep posting if anything changes but otherwise i'm still in limbo, just with a bit of pain!!! xxx

Good morning, no news from me but feeling much better than I did yesterday and fairly motivated :-)
I think I had enough sleep for everyone last night having dropped off at 9:30 and slept through til 8am this morning!
I still have mild pains and tightenings 'down there', but nothing to shout about. Except for the fact that if I cough, sneeze or laugh it feels like the baby is going to shoot out - anyone else get that? Errr.... I hope so :-P
Hope things progressfor you today Lorraine, I shall keep everything crossed. Am popping out now, but will check on again later xx

Morning ladies.
Lorry, its sounds like youre starting off like I did! I was woken with regular pains at 5:30am but they became irregular during the day and even stopped at times. Tea time it all kicked off and baby arrived 11:34pm that night! Having said that though, I had timed mild pains on a few occassions over a period of a week leading up to that. I can remember when my boyfriend took over timing them for me, all I was capable of saying was "time" and he would write the time down lol
I will keep checking back to see how youre doing as and when I can but if I dont catch you before you go into hospital (because Im that confident for you lol) good luck!!

Hi BM, what a miserable weekend it is too - hope you are safely tucked up at home :-)
I hope baby Lorry is on his / her way.... she's one week overdue now, officially I'm not due until Thursday so it must be doubly frustrating for her. I am sure she will update us as soon as she has some news... it's very exciting, I wonder what she will have? Did she do the Chinese predictor thingy in Red's thread do we know? I will go check in a minute...
