When I was a child, we called them Grandma and Granddad.

I used to call my mum and dad, mum and dad, Never knew my maternal grandparents not my paternal grandfather. My paternal grandmother was called Nan (or Nanna).
When they were alive I simply called them Grandma and Grandad (+ surname when talking about them)

Grandad and Grandma for mum, Gramps and Mumps for dad.

Dads - Nanna & Granddad.

Mums - Nan or Nannan & Granddad.

Only got Nannan left now :-(

Nana and Grandad for my dad's mum and dad. Didn't have any on my mums side.

I never knew any of my grandparents so never referred to them by any name apart from mum's mum/dad or dad's mum/dad.

Guess I must be fortunate, I recall those, plus my great gran and grandad, they were fabulous.
Maternal grandparents were called Muv and Arder.

Dad's Nan and Pop, Mum's, Grandmother and Grandfather.
I never had any Grand Parents or Great Grand Parents for that matter.
None of them are alive now but Mum's Mum and Dad were Nonna and Nonno (Italian), and Dad's Mum and Dad were Granny and Giddo (English and Egyptian)
I knew one great grandma.
paternal grandparents- nanna/nan and grandad
maternal- grandad died in War, grandma was Amma (Icelandic for Grandma)
